This month is the 25th anniversary of my book _Our Band Could Be Your Life_. Fewer than 1% of all books remain in print that long. People still come up and tell me how it inspired them. It's been translated into several languages. The moral of the story: if you have a good idea, make it happen.

If you listen really closely you can hear Eddie Vedder yell like Waluigi at the beginning of Evenflow. But it'll really get you to thinking when you realize that Evenflow predates Waluigi by many years. So it's probably more appropriate to say that Waluigi sounds like Eddie Vedder.

I mean it wasn't all sunshine and roses — trans women were still a major joke, there were murders, etc — but it really says something about where we're at now that the 90's would seem idyllic.

David Duchovny played a transgender woman, Denise, on Twin Peaks in 1990 and when greeting Cooper, the show's protagonist, she says, "I prefer Denise, if you don't mind" and Cooper responds with "OK" and her identity is settled within a couple seconds and was a non-issue, 36 years ago.

Probably controversial but legitimately the worst show I've ever seen was REM in LA during the Around the Sun tour. Stipe started with a bold "i know you wanna hear the hits but we're hear to do the new stuff" and the rest of the night was dirge after boring dirge. We left before the encore.

Kevin Roberts, President of The Heritage Foundation, claims that evidence suggests a correlation between undergoing Trans Medical Care and acts of violence. He states Heritage's public policy solution is to ban it for all ages and they're willing to work towards this goal on an incremental basis.

A near ban in all states Both supporters and opponents of transgender rights agree that, taken together, the forthcoming rules could make access to pediatric gender-affirming care across the country extremely difficult, if not impossible. The care is already banned in 27 states. "These rules would be a significant escalation in the Trump administration's attack on access to transgender health care," says Katie Keith, director of the Center for Health Policy and the Law at Georgetown University. "I think it's really, really important to note that nothing is changing immediately," she explains. "These would be proposals that would go out for public comment, it would take months for the Trump administration to issue a final rule, and then, if past is prologue, we would see litigation over whatever the final rules are."
