I would much rather write hundreds of lines for "forgetting" my gym strip & get a pity 50.1% C- in gym, than to go into that locker room. I used to have meltdown panic attacks & lock myself in the bathroom stall just like this. Then they'd grab my clothes from under the door & run away with them.

One employee was driving to work when the station went off air. He heard the recorded message saying it was over. That’s how he was informed he lost his job. Some found out when other media began reporting it. These employees deserved dignity and respect & Rogers chose not to provide that.

Still seething. When I say some of the people at NEWS 1130 worked their fucking asses off I mean it. Years of inadequate pay. Working holidays, early mornings, evenings, overnight, weekends. 24/7 through the pandemic. Fire seasons, snowstorms & floods. Internal politics. For this? Disgraceful.

Apparently CKWX 1130 got shut down and pulled off the air with zero warning due to a "budget cut" bloodbath that axed a bunch of stations today. Un-freaking-believable. They were a 50,000 watt clear-channel station that had been on the air with that callsign since 1927! They're a Vancouver fixture.

Me from about 1997-2010 when I saw a photo of someone who'd got on blockers & HRT as a teen. Eventually I stopped hanging around those message boards b/c unless I was online friends with the trans woman in question, I was only causing psychic damage to myself. Knowing next to nothing about TADC aside from internet spoilers and friends' kids, and starting at the end, was a tad confusing. But it has way more in common with the original go-around of Evangelion than I was anticipating. Suddenly I'm dropped in the middle of a full-cast interpersonal crisis.

"Identify as". "Preferred pronouns." "Biological male". "Gender confirmation surgery." Lots more where that came from, all needs to go in the trash. We got taken over by hostile forces about 15 years ago who proceeded to shove delegitimizing terminology in our mouths & told us to shut up & like it.

The term "transmedicalism" needs to be put on a high shelf until people learn the difference between a random trans person being mean online and a hegemonic power structure restricting your bodily autonomy.

It was too late last night to get riled up about this. But I agree with this thread & have to reiterate: physical sex (whether assigned at birth or not), gender identity & gender expression are *completely* separate axis in a 3 dimensional space. They intersect at different points for each person.

We've seen activists, academics, lawyers, and scholars of feminism and gender and transness and queerness all refuse to acknowledge, for various reasons, that TRANS PEOPLE CHANGE SEX, that we are able to navigate society as the sex we transition to, and are punished for daring to change our sex.

There's a lot of distance between "SCOTUS would have ruled against trans people no matter what, so the arguments don't matter in the slightest" and "We should keep conceding that trans women are immutably biologically Male and only seek protections based on nebulous notions of gender expression".
