GCU spent around £4,500,000 on land purchases just this year, yet they want to cut 100 jobs at the university. Is land more important than the staff and the provision of quality education at GCU? Stop the Cuts. Save the 100🛟

Back in the 90s and 90s scholars in the social sciences and humanities developed analytical frameworks that helped explain how seemingly race neutral policies like drug laws or urban renewal were still systematically racist. I appreciate how the White House has obviated the need for such theories.

US-based tech is openly committed to the global project of Trump and the wider far right. Pretending Meta or X are neutral simply because they have been broadly accessible to the general public allows them to shift the Overton window further towards authoritarianism and facism.

Major strike demonstration day at Glasgow Caledonian. All four of my modules are affected. If the redundancies go ahead as planned, it's almost certain my postgraduate program will be entirely cut. The GCU Students Association returned a vote of No Confidence for the current administration.

I feel not enough dots are being connected about the breadth and volume of strikes and other protests taking place across multiple stages in Britain, Ireland, France, India and beyond. This is speaking to a present crisis in global economy, politics and society itself. www.rte.ie/news/analysi...
