At the very well-attended demo outside Perceval House and then observed tonight's Cabinet, where Ealing's Labour Cabinet voted to "agree in principle to the proposal to grant a lease to Troubadour ... for the provision of a temporary theatre in Walpole Park for 3 ½ years" despite vocal opposition.

Look, if I were in the middle of denying I'd participated in a straw donor scheme to launder illegal political donations from inadmissible donors, I probably wouldn't want to be caught on camera setting up a different straw donor scheme to launder illegal political donations from inadmissible donors
Hounslow Planning committee APPROVED the 5-year Gunnersbury Park large events application by 8 votes to 2 with 2 abstentions and 1 Cllr who arrived late not allowed to vote. This was with the addition of a community involvement condition which will perhaps require some free tickets for residents.
I'm attending the Hounslow Council Planning Committee meeting where the deferred application for a 5-year permission for large events for up to 30,000 at Gunnersbury Park is being determined. l've sent an objection on behalf of myself and my Ealing Common ward colleagues to all committee members.
It’s election week! At this important moment I would like to address your entire planet with a message to the people of Earth. And I think I found the perfect place to do it.
There is a grass fire in Gunnersbury Park. @LFBEaling are now in attendance.

Lib Dem Cllr Mark Sanders challenged the portfolio holder re the number of complaints going to the ombudsman. The portfolio holder claims not to be complacent but also says that everything in the complaints handling process is getting better.
Lib Dem @Oxley9Jonathan challenged the Ealing Labour portfolio holder on why LBE didn't use Grant Thornton's valuations for the Broadway Living assets. She claimed those figures were out of date one year on due to house prices increasing.
At a Licensing Committee meeting. Great to be accompanied by my colleagues @conniehersch.bsky.social and @athenazissimos.bsky.social. Before the big Lib Dem gains in Ealing at the last local elections we had one member on each committee.
I'm disappointed to see @rupahuq.bsky.social on this list. A customs union is the first step to rejoining Europe.
A new haircut ahead of the next political challenge... the North Acton council by-election!
Arrived early to vote, and there's a Skoda with steamed up windows in the car park #doggingatpollingstations
My thoughts go out to the family of those involved in the tragic accident in Elthorne Park today.
Kate Garraway, "You would like Keir Starmer to step down?" Ed Davey, "Either he misled parliament, or his government is totally incompetent"
🚨 NEW: An anonymous Government Minister has now called for Keir Starmer to resign "This is a tipping point. There can be no more excuses; we're past apologies and there cannot be another fall person in the form of Olly Robbins. The PM must go" [@breeallegretti]
Has anyone noticed that wherever JD Vance goes, he just makes a mess. In Munich he insulted European allies. In Greenland he turned everyone against Trump. And now he’s helped Viktor Orbán lose re-election. Maybe better to spend more time on the couch VP.
Ealing planning Committee: Application for new light industrial units to replace Nijjar Dairy in Eastman Road, W3, GRANTED unanimously with the addition of a condition I proposed requiring detailed management of the use of the break area and car park.
Very good point from @thedoctorkhan.bsky.social that the diversity of juries makes them fairer to diverse defendants than judges and magistrates who tend to be less representative of the population.
An unusual Ealing Council meeting where the Labour administration performed a series of u-turns perhaps copying Starmer. A u-turn on stopping using the Log Cabin's after school club, a u-turn on the area of the Warren Farm nature reserve and a u-turn on parking restrictions around St Mary's Perivale
In response to Lib Dem Cllr Jonathan Oxley's urgent question, the Labour portfolio holder has u-turned and cancelled the plan to cease referals to the much-loved Log Cabin's after school club in Northfield Avenue, which would have threatened its viability.
NJ lawmakers introduce the FUCK ICE Act. The bill "permits civil action for violations of US Constitution related to immigration enforcement."
Delivering liberal democracy to North Korea one leaflet at a time...!

The reason why the Labour party wants a new leader is that the polls and local elections both put them on the brink of death, the policy agenda is a mess of warmed-over Milibandism pared with hypocritical social conservativism and no obvious route to the upside.
