At the very well-attended demo outside Perceval House and then observed tonight's Cabinet, where Ealing's Labour Cabinet voted to "agree in principle to the proposal to grant a lease to Troubadour ... for the provision of a temporary theatre in Walpole Park for 3 ½ years" despite vocal opposition.

Hounslow Planning committee APPROVED the 5-year Gunnersbury Park large events application by 8 votes to 2 with 2 abstentions and 1 Cllr who arrived late not allowed to vote. This was with the addition of a community involvement condition which will perhaps require some free tickets for residents.
I'm attending the Hounslow Council Planning Committee meeting where the deferred application for a 5-year permission for large events for up to 30,000 at Gunnersbury Park is being determined. l've sent an objection on behalf of myself and my Ealing Common ward colleagues to all committee members.

Lib Dem Cllr Mark Sanders challenged the portfolio holder re the number of complaints going to the ombudsman. The portfolio holder claims not to be complacent but also says that everything in the complaints handling process is getting better.
Lib Dem @Oxley9Jonathan challenged the Ealing Labour portfolio holder on why LBE didn't use Grant Thornton's valuations for the Broadway Living assets. She claimed those figures were out of date one year on due to house prices increasing.
At a Licensing Committee meeting. Great to be accompanied by my colleagues @conniehersch.bsky.social and @athenazissimos.bsky.social. Before the big Lib Dem gains in Ealing at the last local elections we had one member on each committee.

Very good point from @thedoctorkhan.bsky.social that the diversity of juries makes them fairer to diverse defendants than judges and magistrates who tend to be less representative of the population.
An unusual Ealing Council meeting where the Labour administration performed a series of u-turns perhaps copying Starmer. A u-turn on stopping using the Log Cabin's after school club, a u-turn on the area of the Warren Farm nature reserve and a u-turn on parking restrictions around St Mary's Perivale
In response to Lib Dem Cllr Jonathan Oxley's urgent question, the Labour portfolio holder has u-turned and cancelled the plan to cease referals to the much-loved Log Cabin's after school club in Northfield Avenue, which would have threatened its viability.
