So, uh, a candidate who suspended his campaign a month ago is winning a landslide against a Trump endorsed candidate because of anti-Muslim prejudice against a guy who is not Muslim (and I guess probably also just regular racism). How often does a candidate who suspended their campaign win?

Seems like an upset might be brewing in the GOP primary in #MI08 to take on Dem Rep. Kristen McDonald Rivet. Trump endorsed Amir Hassan, but he currently trails an absolute nobody who suspended his campaign a month ago by a wide margin.

Speaking of which, the margin is now down to less than 26,000 votes, or less than 2%. Regardless of who ultimately wins, it's safe to say that the entire polling industry looks like a bunch of jackasses right now.

We don’t have to see eye-to-eye on every issue, but I believe in finding things we have in common rather than letting every difference divide us. Something I know we can all agree on: too many communities across our state have been overlooked. We can do better and we can do it together.

Sixty-one years after the Voting Rights Act became law, the fight to protect our freedom to vote continues. Join me this Thursday, August 6, in Horn Lake for a community conversation about protecting voting rights and strengthening our democracy. I hope you'll be part of it.

Oral health is healthcare. Too many people end up in the ER for dental pain that preventive care could have stopped. I've worked across the aisle to fix that, because this shouldn't be a partisan issue. adanews.ada.org/ada-news/202...

@realdonaldtrump under your racist leadership, the words on the Statue of Liberty—“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free…”—might as well end with “FOR WHITES ONLY” when you welcome White South Africans while deporting Black Haitians.

Families are paying more than ever for school supplies and groceries, and many parents are cutting back on other household expenses just to make ends meet. I introduced the Summer Meals REACH Act to expand free meals so every child can stay healthy, prepared, and ready to learn.

I am proud to have joined my colleagues across the aisle in introducing the READ Act. This bill strengthens evidence-based Science of Reading instruction to tackle America’s literacy crisis and help every child succeed. Together, we’re improving literacy nationwide.
