Key findings: 🔥 Summer: Most heat flows toward glaciers, concentrated in the upper 150 m thanks to subglacial discharge. 🌀 Winter: Circulation is surprisingly strong but more 3D than in summer. ➡️ Two distinct winter inflow events: one cold & deep, one relatively warm!

As the United Nations marks the 2025 International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation and the opening of COP30 in Brazil, I'm happy to have been able to contribute a chapter to a new UK National Commission for UNESCO report on "Glaciers and Ice Sheets in a Warming World: Impacts and Outcomes". (1/2)
