The concept of Duke Law discriminating *against* white people. Must be a different, much cooler Duke Law than the one I attended.

saw Backstreet Boys this weekend and now everyone on LinkedIn’s suffering for it
To demonstrate how pointless the bar is, the President of the NCBE never took it, because she graduated from Wisconsin, which provides diploma privilege for lawyers. @lizcgil.bsky.social knows what I’m talking about.
well I don't think it's too much to ask for faithful historicity from a film adaptation of a written poem based on an ancient oral poetic tradition describing a half-remembered and largely mythologized past
I understand that it sucks to have to read a book you didn't choose as a kid but when people are like 40 and still going, "well assigned reading turned me off from reading" it's like, ok but you're 40. No one has assigned you a book in like 20 years.
I saw a reel the other day that was like “we are no longer seen as customers, but rather, consumers. corporations no longer treat us like patrons they serve. We’re just a layer they have to resentfully push through to get our money.” And I think about that all the time.
I'm currently on an American flight and I honestly don't think I can fly with them again. Not only do I have no legroom, I have no foot room. They have shrunk the space under the seat so that my small backpack extends out. I have to have my feet on top of it, which is killing my back.
When ChatGPT tells me that I something I just said made it “absurdly happy”:

Part of being a senior attorney is empowering your people to build their own books. Having your own book = agency, and we all know that. So, help foster that, down the ladder. Back them up on pitch calls. Invite them to events. Do legwork that’s technically “beneath” you. That’s part of mentorship.
No one: Not a single soul: My mother, out of nowhere, with no further commentary: “here’s an article about the top 5 health issues affecting lawyers 🥰”
my new idea for time zones. whenever you wake up, that's 9 am. and whenever you go to sleep that's 9 pm. time is no longer a fixed point. you can follow the sun or you can follow your heart. the choice is yours
An incredible euphemism here for “the government is doing illegal discrimination”
What are some good Silly Little Accounts (tm) to follow On Here? Like, jokesters who are doing yeoman’s duty of helping us laugh through all this. LMK.
You will never make me believe that being business-savvy means becoming less empathetic, stingier with resources, a more practiced gatekeeper. Being successful does not require those things. There are people who have been successful without them. Making them part of your success is a choice.
My signature move is coming up with a clever comeback 10 years later
(getting *just* depressed enough to start posting again) “we are so back 😎”
My friend just texted me “I would move heaven and earth for snow right now”, but the automatic AI recap function on iPhone just summarized it as “dislike for heat.” If that isn’t the perfect, quotidian example of how AI dims the human spark, idk what is
Burnout doesn’t just come from overwork. It can come from simply existing in a world that is rapidly, visibly turning inwards, towards the self and away from the collective. Existing in survival mode, against your will and convictions. Be gentle with yourself.
Gonna go ahead and add this one to the feed
I saw a reel earlier today that said something to the effect of, “everyone’s so burned out by capitalism and being used that they’re now just taking everything they can get for themselves in the hopes of one day escaping it, thereby perpetuating hyper individualism” and boy did I feel that.
If anyone’s wondering how capitalism is doing, Amazon just asked me if I wanted to subscribe to a plunger
The only thing I'll remember about Lindsey Graham is his mistreatment of Dr Christine Blasey Ford. Acting apoplectic at nonsensical details because he knew the most powerful misogynist in the world was watching him. I've never seen a man debase and humiliate himself so much.
[deleting my post after only getting 5 likes in 24 hours] I hope no one saw that
Can’t. I’m busy clenching my jaw so tightly I could form a diamond from the pressure.
People really, truly, desperately need to GET A GRIP. Buying cubes of a billionaire’s trash for $25?? Is personal pride really a thing of the past??? ktla.com/news/swiftie...
Swifties are buying cubes of trash from outside Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s MSG wedding
Apparently, Taylor’s trash is another man’s treasure. Some die-hard Swifties would take anything they could get from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s New York City wedding last Fri…

God I hope this is real. Someone attends Taylor Swift’s wedding, gets one of the monogrammed handkerchiefs, and immediately sells it on eBay. Incredible, no notes
“Taylor Swift can do whatever she wants” indeed. And so can I. So I am going to do what I love and judge
I think Trump's recreation of Fyre Festival is a perfect representation of the state of this country
