Another funny thing about this chart and adopting the M7/M8 is that small UAS now give a ton of options for a squad/platoon to close the perceived overmatch distance 6.8mm is trying to solve for. We picked a materiel solution and ignored most of the DOTMLPF-P

Fundamentally, the problem is no party in the US has a coherent strategy for China. No one wants to pay the huge costs in decoupling or de-risking the economy plus the military spending to buy the right capabilities for Taiwan. W/out a consistent approach, we can't really bring along allies either.
