One of my favorite annual events with my pre-covid gaming group was our Hollandspiele birthday party. Hollandspiele games only (rule bent for Northern Pacific), and we always had to play For-Ex. I'll at least try to spend some time with Swords Against to celebrate this year

This month marks the tenth anniversary of Hollandspiele, which started taking orders for a reprint of Brian Train's The Scheldt Campaign on August 16, 2016. We have in that time released 122 games, expansions, and freebies - 64 of them my own designs. What a beautiful gift this life & work is.

When I used to play tabletop RPGs, I did a special Halloween session with a shoddy haunted house made out of store brand Frosted Flakes boxes, and the host's kids loved it so much they asked if they could have it to play with when we were done. AI could never compete with that.

I just started reading Swords Against and I have a thing I really want to do but I don't understand the consequences and I should really should read the rest before I just start taking wild swings. But the idea of it is so thrilling I can't let it go

For years I've wondered what Elwin's take on a lower playfield would look like given that for upper playfields he's said getting out quickly is important, and gravity isn't working in your favor for a lower pf. I'm also curious if it would be smack in the middle as usual or a more creative location

It's probably time European journalists wrapped their heads around Heat Index (temp + relative humidity). In high humidity, sweating is less efficient, making heat worse, e.g.: Experiencing 35°C in London UK (70% RH) is more dangerous than 50°C in Phoenix Arizona (15% RH)
