Jessica Elgot@jessicaelgot.bsky.social · 19h agoThat Joshua Bonehill-Paine is a suitable Tory candidate but Grant Shapps and Gavin Barwell have been excluded is quite a good indicator of how many seats the Tories will realistically regain at the next election.
Imagine if Labour selected a parliamentary candidate who had been convicted and imprisoned for identical antisemitic threats (because we all know these attitudes aren’t confined to the far right). Would Badenoch take the same line? Of course she fucking wouldn’t.
Tom Roberts@tpgroberts.bsky.social · 2d agoAbsolutely crackers, extremely self serving as a defence as there is absolutely no chance she'd extend this same benefit of the doubt elsewhere, which becomes obvious in the, factually incorrect, statement on early release she can't resist tagging on at the end.
Astonishing that JB, who has dedicated her life to campaigning against gender-based violence and the exploitation of women, should have a good word to say for a man who hit his girlfriend and joked about sleeping with teenage girls, simply because he happened to agree with her on That One Issue.

Why bother to read a piece by someone who does not understand that social care involves so much more than elderly care?
I vastly prefer bluesky to the Nazi site, but it is extremely galling (and genuinely distressing) to read multiple posts on here claiming schools weren’t really closed during the lockdowns. This is gaslighting, pure and simple.
Utterly sick of this shit. Yes, schools fucking were closed to the majority of kids. It almost broke me and my child (and literally killed several kids locked up with their abusers). Can we please not now pretend it didn’t happen for the sake of making whatever political point you think this is?
He's right and he should say it. Education is the greatest tool for combating poverty and increasing social mobility ever invented, and stopping it is devastating for vulnerable kids

The full statement from UEFA is remarkable. Members vow not to participate in FIFA competitions unless the entire proposal is scrapped and assurances are made it is gone for good.

Christmas 2020 should have been the last Christmas my husband spent with his grandmother. Plans were made which had to be cancelled with a couple of days’ notice. She died a couple of months later and he never got to see her again.
