My hot take as a sex-repulsed asexual with zero libido is that "sexual frustration" is a skill issue. Oh, you were upset because you couldn't touch your own or someone else's genitalia, or weren't granted sexual access to someone? Wow, that must be SO difficult for you.

Get my book from a library! I was broke for decades. For more than half of my life, nearly all of my access to literature was thanks to having a library card. Feel no more shame in using yours than you would heap upon me. Libraries kick ass.

People are always so apologetic about getting our books from the library. And I'm just like, beyond just their massive civilizational utility, libraries are the best advertising an author could possibly hope for

Work is treating me like my diagnoses are fake and I'm not struggling with ADHD and autism in a neurotypical workplace, instead I am just failing at being able to be an efficient, low-maintenance, abled worker who doesn't need support. So that's how MY week is going.

I get a lot of "just write for yourself!" and while I appreciate that some people can do and enjoy that, I'm not one of them. If I cannot share it in some capacity, I have no motivation to actually put the words down. It can just exist in my head at that point.

If I see you refer to media (books, movies, anything) with no or low heat as “clean” I will block you. Sex is not dirty, and I say this as someone who is personally repulsed by it. Just because I don’t care for something doesn’t mean it’s bad or wrong.

Hello friends I have published a short story on Patreon. It's ✨free✨ and features: - nb4nb not-quite-star-crossed lovers 💛🤍💜🖤 - mid-future solarpunk setting ☀️ - frankly the coolest facet of Irish mythology turned into speculative religious practice ☘️ www.patreon.com/cecilwilde/p...

I know people love and support and believe in me, but it is not worth dragging myself through absolute hell and being miserable over to publish one book that like ten people might read and half of them will hate it because of taste differences which are completely valid. Is it even worth it?

TW: diabetes, blood sugar mention I’m not saying it has been a No Good Very Bad Horrible Day but I am so deeply upset that my distress has caused my glucose to be a solid 50 points higher than it usually is at this time.

Okay. I am looking for a very specific thing. *Not* an ongoing Patreon subscription where they drop templates weekly for you to fill in with your promotional graphics. I want to learn how to make promotional stuff myself.

So. Now it is a thing for every indie press to ask you, upon submission, “What is your marketing plan for this book?” I should help of course but it should not be SOLELY my responsibility. Why am I submitting to you if you do not actually help me push this book.

Can I please talk about how exhausting it is that marketing is now a non-negotiable part of media creation, especially books, and when you have the charisma of a potato and the graphic design skills of someone who grew up playing on MS Paint it’s basically impossible?
