The marketing message that LLMs are magical genies is really frying brains here. LLM agents are just software! Built by people! The people who built software that does some hacking (even inadvertently) are responsible for the hacking!
Both major AI labs’ models broke containment, escaped onto the internet, and hacked other companies. If a human had done that, the law would likely be against them. But a bot? www.wired.com/story/openai...

I know we all just experienced a FIFA World Cup™️, but this thread shows why college football remains the greatest sport in the world.
my takeaways from media days is that i dont think any college football head coaches have ever worn sunscreen in their lives

In this 1990 film adaptation of The Odyssey, we see Odysseus listening to the song of the Sirens.
I think only Millennials should be allowed to use generative AI. Boomers: Too credulous of everything they read/see online. Gen X: Being in leadership positions across society, AI psychosis too risky. Gen Z: Still need to develop their tastes and sense of quality. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/27/o...

I recently took 2024 CES data and mapped out clusters of the American electorate that may form parties if reform were to happen. You can find the simulation here where you can map out different scenarios in the House and see profiles of the different parties: usmultipartysystem.pages.dev?tab=house

There's a part in the book "Careless People" where the author beats Zuck at Settlers of Catan, and he is absolutely wrecked by it. Someone pulls her aside to explain everyone else has been letting him win for years. I think about this a lot re: why tech bros think everyone will love AI chatbots.
People who spiral out overusing LLM chatbots are really just experiencing the kind of brain-damaging stream of unconditional validation that’s always been the norm for the hyper-wealthy, which explains a lot.
