As an FYI, I know search sucks now, but if you're ever looking for philosophical answers/sources/whathaveyou in your research, stuff like the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy (SEP) still exists and is high quality, and PhilPapers remains a great index of many philosophical papers.

There's really nothing like the mid-afternoon sorrow of picking up your mug to take a sip of tea and only discovering when no life-sustaining liquid meets your lips that your mug is, in fact... EMPT-TEA.😭

Wahooo!! Poetry is a tiny piece of one soul speaking out to a tiny piece of another---and thus, is far from some stodgy dead thing. Poetry is for everyone, and it's wonderful to have that recognized <333

The poetry Hugo is a go! At least until 2029, as there's a policy of re-ratifying new categories three years later. Thank you to @hollylynwalrath.bsky.social, @bugthewriter.bsky.social, @therisingtithes.bsky.social, and everybody else who made this happen!

And the vote passes! We now have a #specpo Hugo through 2029 at least, at which point it will go through a re-ratification process. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported this effort & to my dear community of poets. Here's hoping translation is next.

Today is the day! (Probably, we can't know 100%) but the vote on a Poetry Hugo is scheduled at today's WSFS meeting, 12EDT/9PDT. If you're attending #LAConV you can come and vote! Please do. More info at the link about the business meeting: www.lacon.org/businessmeet...

I realize I am radically annoying on this topic but once again, a reminder that the vote to ratify the speculative poetry Hugo award is July 26 and if you love speculative poetry or just wish you could win a Hugo for a haiku, please consider voting/speaking at the meeting! poetryhugo.com
