Putin believes that he can maintain a stream of terrorist attacks longer than the west is willing to aid Ukraine. He is playing to Trump's mental handicaps by playing against his narcissistic need to feel important.

Putin has never said that he will agree to a peace agreement if he gets the rest of Donbas. What Putin has said is that if Ukraine gives him he get the rest of Donbas, then he will be willing to begin negotiations about the rest of Russia's conditions for peace.

so basically the next congress is going to have to decide what it cares about more: 1. avoiding an impeachment because ugh impeachment or 2. accepting the end of US hegemony and influence in europe and much of the world

Factual inaccuracies aside, it‘s striking how he hates these countries for wanting to be left alone, while having no such anger for the big violent nuclear power threatening the violence. To him big countries (China, Russia) matter & small ones (Estonia, Latvia) don’t. Utterly imperialist mindset.

My grandmother in 1958~ was not allowed to abort her fetus even though the doctor's knew he would die shortly after birth (died within 2 weeks). She was not allowed to have birth control because her husband didn't agree with it. Shockingly, she was very pro-choice. She would be appalled today.

This is inspiring in the way that kids running a lemonade stand to pay for their friend's chemotherapy is inspiring: the kids are amazing but they should never have to do this. if this inspires you at all, let it inspire you to create a real right to vote so they can just vote on campus.
