I HAVE BEEN SUBSIDIZING WALMART AND AMAZON STARVING THEIR EMPLOYEES FOR MY ENTIRE LIFE.
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

Naw, fuck you, I'm *extremely* anti-AI. It's not worth poisoning black folks so you can write reports easier or whatever. Fuck that.

What a terrible take to promote. Maybe I like it when things get better for my neighbors. It's good actually to not have to personally benefit from something to consider it worthwhile.
“Hello bsky pals, we hope you had an ok Monday & now a better-than-ok Monday walkies!” 🧵
I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.

i love this building that just got approved by the toronto government to start development thats an 11 story residential apartment building with retail space on the ground floor, with a buddhist temple on the very top
airbnb I’m staying at unintentionally created the toughest punk album cover of 2027
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
It's me again, resident (to my house) anti-genAI Twitch Ambassador If you're as mad about this as we are, you NEED to vote for this Uservoice, make our voices HEARD on this twitch.uservoice.com/forums/92338...

Twitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.
It showed up today! You can get this book and the other two in the series at www.nerdburgergames.com or at the Nerdburger booth at Gencon! #TTRPG #SoloRPG
Looking to speak with tabletop designers whose DriveThruRPG products were recently and erroneously tagged as containing AI-generated content. Apologies if this is how you find out it's happened to you lol DMs open; email works too: chase@rascal.news
That's so amazing!! Thank you so much!!

Amnesty have issued an apology to JK Rowling and the rest. Adjust your expectations, and donations, accordingly www.amnesty.org.uk/latest/an-ap...

They apologized to Rowling. Let them know how disappointing that is.
Make contact. Fill that mails with a strong response. Don’t let them think they are bigger. Make noise.
This has been one of the most depressing realizations in studying psychology that explained a lot of things: most people don't have strong convictions or values of their own and social forces are a much bigger influence on their behavior and ethics framework.
its very frustrating to me that vast swaths of the public are essentially weathervanes whose opinions reflect the media landscape rather than any internal value system
Baba was a laundress, cleaner, and heavy drinker, so that. In my current form (disabled) I couldn't do a job, so I'd likely end up in some horrible institution. Baba had incredibly strong arms from her work and could quickly whip cream by hand at machine speeds and win arm wrestling contests.
Enough “what would you do on the commune questions” If you got sent back 100 years and were given your grandparent’s job, what are you doing?
I'm old enough to remember when polio put my friends into iron lungs. We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives. What RFK Jr. is doing to public health in America is a disgrace.
Increasingly, Soylent Green serves as one of the best metaphors for AI -- it's taking all that we are, as people, chumming it up, and feeding the slurry back to us. We're told that we need it, it's nutritious, it'll save the world, even as it damns it and us.
helloooo 👀👀 if you are going to #GenCon this year and running events or selling things or running a booth, please let me know.... *insert mysterious & magical hand gestures here* also looking to connect with professional game designers & GMs :) send me a message!! thank u in advance!!
Not only is this fabulous communication (direct, clear, honest); it is BRAVE. Musk goes after critics and encourages his millions of users to do the same. He will likely post some threatening meme of her being a traitor. But she isn’t cowering from him 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
minnesota state rep jess hanson rides elon musk for filth for trying to defend his pervy app: "when the richest man in the world hangs out with the epstein class... we cannot act surprised when he's trying to protect the number one tool used to make child sexual abuse material"
