I have no opinion on what Arday may or may not have done, because the "story" started out as a bad-faith attack by a racist Substacker targeting a random Black man, and whatever followed from that is a fruit of the poisoned tree situation. I have a *lot* of opinions about the British press.
The news about Jason Arday is awful and sad and I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that it will not take his story out of the UK's culture wars, they're too far gone.
i do not care what this man did or did not do; he has been hounded to death by the British media class (and, frankly, put directly in harm's way by – lmao! – Cambridge University). he unequivocally didn't deserve that.

It's so blazingly obvious that this is true. A university lecturer being fired for plagiarism would not be national news >99% of the time. It was inflated into one this time purely because it fit into racist "culture war" narratives about "DEI".
