Folks will sometimes joke about how people there are more racist against the Chinese and Koreans while not caring about black people and etc. Always found this to be bullshit when every 3rd comment I saw in JP online spaces on dark-skinned anime characters is wanting them to be plot relevant (1/2)

The inferiority complex everyone has with California and LA is palpable every time I travel to more rural parts of the US. It's subtle, but always there. There's always a conversation where someone has to rag on it somehow, even just a little bit. Like a small dig, and I have to accept it.

Art is actually like super easy if you can manage to stop yourself from talking yourself out of doing it because "this is too hard" and "I don't know how to draw that" and "it's gonna look like trash so why bother" ... like just do it lol it's that simple

Last day of Otakon 2026. Finally Worked up the courage to ask someone if I could take a picture of their cosplay for the 1st time, and they were nice enough to let me! They don’t have a handle sadly, but they were very nice!

I truly feel for kids growing up now who will have to unlearn using AI, but if you've been writing for more than 2 years it is the easiest thing in the world to just Keep Doing The Thing You Did and ignore AI tools!! It makes me feel crazy that people act like this isn't the case!!!

it's actually sad as hell to use AI for research when research is the fun part. you can just email people and call them on the phone and ask them questions about the thing that they have expertise in. you can read documents & learn cool shit. ok now i'm just talking about how being a reporter is fun

"A Dunesbury Special" is maybe the only genuine example of American "adult animation" I've ever seen in the sense that it addresses adult concerns and in the sense that any child who tried to watch it would probably find it pretty boring. It also maintains visual interest despite its verbosity.
