Crypto scammers are coming for everyone; including, apparently, Chris Sanders.

Disney and TikTok have announced a partnership that will bring creator videos to Disney+ 🔗 blogmickey.com/2026/08/disn...
“For though your body will shrink, your mind will expand.” On this date 59 years ago "Adventure Thru Inner Space" opened at Disneyland! The attraction's "Atomobiles" were powered by the Omnimover ride system, which would power the "Haunted Mansion" Doom Buggies two years later.
Maybe the answer is just that I’m old and this is not for me, but why would I want to pay to subscribe to the exclusive streaming platform of one of the world’s largest media conglomerates to watch short form videos by amateurs I could just as easily watch on social media for free?
Disney and TikTok have announced a new partnership that will bring select Disney fan-made TikTok videos to Disney+. As part of the initiative, creators who opt in will receive access to official Disney assets, with their videos featured on both TikTok and Disney+.
I don’t doubt Emily Wilson knows more about The Odyssey than most people living - or heck - more than most people since Homer himself, but everything she’s written suggests to me that she does not understand the language of film at all. Just a baffling misreading to the point that it feels willful.
This is an astounding loss for the US if it comes to fruition. One of the biggest strategic losses the US has ever endured—perhaps biggest?—and all from a war the US chose to start for no reason, illegally.
Iran and Oman have reportedly agreed that all ships transiting Hormuz have to go through an Iran-controlled corridor, and are finalizing tolls of 3, 5, or 7%. This would close off the path outside Iranian waters the US encouraged ships to use during the MOU, then started bombing again to keep open.
Once again, the Founders anticipated the possibility of a tyrannical president. What they didn’t anticipate is a majority of the members of Congress choosing subservience—not that they’d all be good people, but most should have egos and ambition, enough to object if someone tried taking their power.
Absolutely wild that interests of US & Ukraine have never been more aligned - Iran makes drones used by Russia against Ukraine; Ukraine has valuable drone warfare expertise we would benefit from - but we’re still screwing Ukraine over b/c Trump has a hard on for Putin www.cnbc.com/2026/07/31/t...
Trump says U.S. has 'not agreed to' grant Ukraine Patriot missile licenses
President Donald Trump said the U.S. hasn't agreed to grant Ukraine licenses to produce Patriot missile systems.

“…an incompetent personal advisor…” The Tsar cannot be wrong. He can only be wronged.
Trump was a kindergarden-level civics test the American electorate failed miserably, and the rest of the world now quite rightly regards us collectively as a toddler stumbling around with a Glock rather than an adult one can deal reasonably with.
most charitable read of this ad is that ai companies are just straight-up admitting that their products are exclusively for horrible people who suck.
The overwhelming right wing sentiment is that COVID was an engineered bioweapon that was also harmless. Trump overreacted to it by shutting down the country, then engineered a drive to create a vaccine that was the real bioweapon that killed millions, and it's Joe Biden's fault.
The three hardest questions in American politics (difficulty level: impossible): 1) Who was president for the entire duration of 2020? 2) What specific gov’t policies did Dr. Anthony Fauci implement or have the authority to implement? 3) Why are we still talking about 2020 six years later?
Josh Hawley has a law degree from Yale. He know that "no honest person pleads the fifth" is a lie, and he understands why it's a lie. But he also know that the audience he's performing for doesn't know that and doesn't understand it, and he values the performance over his own honesty.
Josh Hawley self-owned in his questioning and then doubled down.
I was not familiar with who the f🤬k Sen Moreno was so I looked up his medical bona fides since he is clearly more qualified than Dr. Fauci: -falsely claimed to have an MBA (just bachelor’s) -owned several car dealerships -settled >12 wage theft lawsuits, rebuked by judge for shredding evidence
Moreno to Fauci: "Who the fuck did you think you were?"
RIP Kavinsky. The DRIVE (2011) title sequence (and prologue) is just one of the most magnetic and successful sequences in movie history and it's impossible to imagine any track other than "Nightcall" in it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yc_z...

The problem that people like Moyn have is that Pax Americana (to the extent that existed) was the period of most rapid increase in democracy and prosperity worldwide. Did that have NOTHING to do with U.S. global power and influence plus institutions, rules, pacts, etc?
Putin, Xi, Iran, etc must love the way this clown car of incompetent cultists is burning every alliance and relationship the US has built over decades and centuries to the ground in such a short period of time with a toxic combination of arrogance and stupidity.
The reason covid destroyed politics in this country is that it made everyone vastly more online, in many cases permanently
mildly funny that X is having blazing rows about Nolan’s Odyssey because he cast black people in it and Bluesky is having blazing rows about whether a noted Homeric translator’s LRB review of it misses the point or not
This maps onto a similar complaint with Oppenheimer and also Obsession. I think it’s worth asking why the director/writer made those choices. Is it because they don’t care about the victims? Or is it because they believe (rightly or wrongly) that the film is more impactful from the POV provided?
7. The film centers Odysseus's guilt over his war crimes, but never shows us the POV of his victims, and instead glorifies the perpetrator for feeling bad about himself. I found this unsatisfying ethically and worse, imaginatively, because Damon's character is given only one mood (Troubled).
Why does every single person in this administration act like they aren’t currently in power. JOE BIDEN DIDN’T PROCURE ENOUGH PAC-3 INTERCEPTORS Okay. Well. You knew that when you started the war. You knew what the stockpiles were. You didn’t increase capacity. How is this on him.
WELKER: Is America backing away from a larger attack bc our stockpile has been depleted? WALTZ: We have to take a step back. A lot of our stockpiles were depleted because of Biden WELKER: But you acknowledge they're depleted? WALTZ: No. And the people leaking this nonsense deserve to be in jail
who knew mag-dumping the entire PAC-3 stockpile while crashing the global economy would be a bad thing??
Quite the sentence: “Mr. Trump and his top aides are also uneasy about the prospect of a widening war in the Middle East, the alienation of key Gulf allies who are vulnerable to Iranian attack, a global economic crunch, and growing energy and refugee crises.” www.nytimes.com/2026/07/25/u...
If she thinks cool kids are the ones talking about politics on the internet she clearly has never spent any time on bsky dot app
"Cool kids on the Internet. They're doing the cool kid chatter. Some of 'em might be the coastal elites, making fun of how I talk. But let's be real. They're making fun of Michigan. They're thinking they're better than us. Their jokes, their criticism, only make me fight harder." -- Haley Stevens
