Interesting as a point of reference for public opinion in Canada. Support for secession is running around 31% in Quebec. Latest poll in Alberta puts support for a referendum at 23%.

As mayor, do you think Brad Bradford would open all 100 library branches 7-days-a-week +expand hours? Expand school meals to 325,000 students saving families $900/yr? Fund eviction prevention programs & pass Renovictions Bylaw to help tenants stay housed? Mayor Chow DID! Keep it going!🗳️ #TOpoli

This year I pledged to ride every passenger train in Canada, from the White Pass & Yukon out of Carcross to The Ocean, calling at Halifax. I'm about 60% of the way there! But the research money is about to run out. A thread on how you can help me reach the end of steel 🧵🚆

Bradford wants to hire a THOUSAND new cops?! No. Hell, no. On top of gutting revenue with his cuts, he wants to explode the already massive police budget? Toronto, we HAVE to re-elect Olivia Chow. (Also, citing Malcom Gladwell in a serious policy discussion is instantly disqualifying.) #TOPoli

In a question about public safety, Chow says she's supporting more funding for youth violence prevention and neighbourhood officers/safety plans. Citing Malcolm Gladwell (?), Bradford says, "You do need more frontline officers if you want to deter crime." He pledges to hire 1,000 of them.

"When fully taken up, these upgrades will save Canadian families more than $1B every year on their energy bills. That is a great return on investment," says Prime Minister Mark Carney as he announces $2B in funding for more than a million home retrofits. #cdnpoli

"This is a sombre anniversary of an unspeakable tragedy. The govt has been taking actions at home to protect the Jewish community, protect all Canadians but particularly the Jewish community," says PM Carney, marking 3 years since the Oct. 7 Hamas-led attacks in Israel. #cdnpoli

Olivia Chow announcing plans to expand the city’s school food program to include lunch. Her campaign says the move will be phased in and “funded like the existing school food program, which is jointly by the City, other levels of government, and private donations.” #ToPoli

Never forget that Danielle Smith bent over backwards to appease this separatist movement, she's pushed this referendum question, it never had to happen, but she put self interest above country. She wears these collaborators and traitors. She is culpable. #cdnpoli

The days of automatically buying U.S. military kit are over. Carney government seems to be signalling that it will no longer accept the Canadian Armed Forces' longstanding preference for American equipment. #CdnPoli 🇨🇦 💪

Opinion: Ottawa sends a message to Canada’s military: The days of automatically buying U.S. gear are over

How will the Canadian Armed Forces adjust to the new reality that industrial and political criteria now matter as much as military ones?
