Everywhere should be a hostile place for Republicans. They should not be able to find a friend anywhere. They should lose all their professional and familial relationships. They should be blocked from signing up to social media platforms, clubs, and yard sales. They should be ejected from fairs.

The media's takeaway from an El-Sayed win is the same as it would have been from a Stevens win, and the same as it will be if El-Sayed wins the general, or if he loses it: everyone, no matter who they are, needs to take several steps to the right.

I had non-terminal cancer and I can tell you that if someone had forced me to work my way through chemotherapy it would have quickly turned terminal. I felt so lucky to be retired when it happened. And even luckier that I didn't have to try and qualify for Medicaid.
