Publish my book! My mom loved it! I post like I'm famous. My opinions are not my employer's, but they should be. he/him

somehow, trans people simultaneously matter enough in an electoral sense that we can be blamed — even preemptively! — for a loss, but not enough that we “deserve to be catered to” when “so much is at stake.”

I will say, re: James Talarico, that I think what he said in the past was the truth and what he's saying right now is the lie, and I would therefore expect him to legislate more in line with the former. But that's sort of the problem here: I think everybody knows he's lying right now?

at this point in political time i have to believe that trans people make up 70-80% of society and are oppressing the cis minority

You can tell we're a country of idiots by how easily we're convinced to debate the 1% of trans people who want the right to live their lives authentically and safely and don't negatively impact our lives instead of the billionaires who spend every day making our lives genuinely tangibly worse.

attacking trans people hurts dem politicians and that take is missing from this whole news cycle. dems attacking trans people makes it more likely you will lose, defending trans people makes it more likely they win I want democrats to win so they need to defend trans people

I think what's most deflating about Dem after Dem caving on trans rights is that there's a real sense of national solidarity forming out here and I'm not sure we've ever had a better opportunity to win people over on this issue than right now.

After Pretti was killed, Savageford, who is Asian-American, said she was taken to a warehouse near the Whipple detention center where immigrants were being detained. She was strip-searched, including by male agents who Cook told HuffPost on Friday were “touching her privates.”

NEW from me: Lawyers for a witness to the killing of Alex Pretti confirmed she has given an interview to the feds. Full details inside. Warning: Disturbing content. www.huffpost.com/entry/she-wa...

In my opinion Democrats get nothing nothing NOTHING by betraying trans people. They hurt themselves with a good deal of their committed voter base, and still don’t get the Republican votes they are so fucking obsessed with winning over. Lose-lose! People hate voting for squishy moral cowards!!

Just did a quick look around and I don't see very many headlines about the President of the US making people pledge allegiance to him personally while telling everyone to commit election fraud and "cheat like hell" to support his party. Seems like it should be a story?

Trump: "Please right your right hand. I pledge to the greatest president in the history of the United States. That loves us so much he can't even breath. That I will go out with my family, my friends, I'll do it any way - I don't care if I'm registered or not, I'm going to try to cheat like hell..."

Lone Progressive Dissenters have the highest batting average of being correct in history, yet that does nothing to change the widespread conviction that today’s Lone Progressive Dissenters must be crazy wackos.

Trump's massive surveillance state and attacks on our civil liberties wouldn't have been possible without the PATRIOT Act. Watch this prescient warning from Russ Feingold, the only Senator to vote against its passage after 9/11.

it’s wild that the heritage foundation wrote in text that the assault on trans woman particularly in sports is their first step in their efforts to completely abolish all Title IX protections and liberals still don’t believe it’s about more than trans women in sports

lrt: i've talked about this before on here, but far right political movements are in fact intrinsically antisocial and criminal, and can prob be stopped in every country in which they're rising simply by enforcing existing law against them

In modern American history has there been a single issue where Republicans consistently hammered Democrats for their position on a topic, Democrats responded by capitulating on it, and then Republicans just… Stopped attacking them over it, does this strategy even exist in reality, seriously asking

The only responsible attitude for liberals and progressives to align on is that all right-wing grievances, claims and believes are not only false, but malicious lies. Nothing passes the mouth of an American conservative in public life that is not meant to harm and destroy the lives of millions.

3 things about Dem politicians who dabble in transphobia: 1. It's wrong, they're wrong, on a moral basis they're being evil 2. It's stupid, they're stupid, they'll never get any credit from the fascists for it 3. It's proof you're not capable of reading or rising to this, and therefore any, moment

I’m a Texan trans kid who almost died because of Ken Paxton. The world should know what he’s done. This was very difficult for me to write, but given what's at stake, I cannot bear to stay silent about what I went through at Paxton's hands. He must not be rewarded for what he's done to trans kids.

Regardless of Talarico’s recent statements on trans people, Paxton cannot be rewarded for the extreme suffering he’s inflicted on me and tens of thousands of Texan trans kids.

i don't care what the issue is, if your election opponent is running millions of dollars in ads about one single issue, you cannot, under any circumstances, say that your opponent is right about the issue.

trying to get people to understand that the trans women in sports debate isn’t really about sports but a meta narrative pushed by the right all about slowly getting all trans people out of public life is truly impossible

like if you actually think this is THE ISSUE that is going to swing the election then pack it up because people will trust the republicans to be bigoted and hateful more than democrats. i would personally use that to my advantage rather than going on the defensive but im no political consultant
