I’ve been really missing Oxventure recently, they were my introduction into D&D and why I started playing TTRPGs. The first campaign I ran was Blades in the Dark because of their series, and I loved the shift to something more serious with Wyrdwood. Hope this isn’t a permanent hiatus
4/4 News is incoming. Thank you for your patience! The Oxventurers
“and make it sound like you!” buddy do I have the hack for you
I don’t think you could have any more red flags than these three paragraphs.
Every time Onimusha WOTS plonks me in a dungeon I have the time of my life, think the game is just excellent. And then it returns me to its little open world to run about for a bit and kill time and I’m just like…why? Just send me straight to the next dungeon and boss please
If you are a parent playing Wolverine who feels like they are enjoying/appreciating it in ways unique to being a parent gamer with limited time and energy I would love to chat for a potential short feature ethan.gach@kotaku.com
Game critics, if you ever struggle to review a game in the meager time allotted to you, let PR know in an email. We can take that feedback and incorporate it into reports. Doesn't mean a CEO/director will see reason, but it's at least one more way we can fight to make things better for next time.
Regarding Resonant's and other games' review period right now. It continues to be unfair to devs to take a game that they spent 7yrs crafting, that takes 30-50hrs to experience, with so much going, only to give reviewers 7/8 days to roll credits and form a cohesive bit of analysis and criticism.
When "white sauce" in fish pie Contains cheese, it’s a lie. That’s a mornay.
I hate it when food presenters describe a white sauce with cheese in it as a béchamel. It's not. A béchamel is a simple white sauce. Add cheese and it's a mornay. But let's not using the French words and just call one a plain white sauce and the other a cheese sauce.

Took me nearly 25 years but I finally finished Golden Sun: The Lost Age! Picked it up on GBA as a kid and loved it because it was basically Pokemon with swords, but never made it very far at all
This has had me thinking about what Nintendo franchises have been missing from the Switch/Switch 2 era, which would be fun to have back Golden Sun Wario Land Dillon's Rolling Western Chibi-Robo Earthbound Kid Icarus Punch-Out It'd be particularly cool to see Camelot going back to their JRPG roots

This is something I’ve been thinking about in the wake of PS stuff - I know the digital split is high as a total, but what about traditional single player games? Over 25% of Requiem sales being physical is still a lot, nearly a million units sold physically!
PlayStation's top games by copies sold in 2026, including some VERY topical physical game splits (Alinea estimates) open.substack.com/pub/alineaan...
Increasingly feels like the games industry is telling me to just go play outside
For a bit of context on just how far the landscape has shifted in gaming hardware pricing these past few months: I went back to some old Digital Foundry articles from only last year as part of some prep for this, and they were wondering aloud about Valve trying to get this out for £399. 💀
