like most dangerous bad advice, there's an inkling of truth. If you want to succeed in a creative profession you DO need to be willing to work long hours for free. But this has nothing to do with employment. And certainly shouldn't extend to employment. Therein lies the trap.

Not hiring entry level workers due to AI adoption is definitely a tragedy of the commons as everyone will benefit from having a cohort of experienced Gen Z workers in 15 years yet few want to hire them today. However I doubt AI in 15 years will need the human oversight that LLMs currently require.
