we laid off the people who develop the games, we laid off the journalists who cover the games, everyone is freelance and there’s no freelance budget. It’s probably fine though
This has such a huge impact on people in rural areas who have to deal with ISP monopolies with unusable speeds. The industry wants to act like the infrastructure is there for this to be the way forward, but big tech is just trying to leave poor people behind.

The way people cheer for and celebrate this corporation, not the developers, the brand itself, has really turned me off from some creators. The BDS list, the dangerous levels of consolidation, the mass layoffs, and people still treat it as their favourite sports team.

And it was the most flagrant display of wealth imaginable. Five stories filled with caterers and hundreds of smiling faces there to assure me of the brand's strength.
