Shouldn’t be shocked at any lie RFK Jr tells, but he whined to Dana Bash that businesses were shut down during the pandemic “with no just compensation.” There was an almost trillion dollar PPP loan program, and his organization got millions from it, none of it paid back, to make payroll.

If I ever think to reconsider my general dislike of people, I just have to remember how many people, including so-called friends, would so casually risk my life because they were unwilling to wear a stupid piece of cloth over their stupid faces. I get over those thoughts quickly.

My experience is of every American COVID-19 mitigation effort being obviously insufficient, and ended far too soon. To see people now argue that they somehow were too much, going too far? Not anti-vax or MAGA people, but folks just out here on Bluesky? It staggers me.

The overwhelming right wing sentiment is that COVID was an engineered bioweapon that was also harmless. Trump overreacted to it by shutting down the country, then engineered a drive to create a vaccine that was the real bioweapon that killed millions, and it's Joe Biden's fault.

I've spent the past year following a farmer who is rescuing sacred objects from closing shuls across small-town America — an ark, a bimah, a Torah, stained glass windows — and building a new synagogue in a cornfield in Illinois. The latest trip took us to the Netherlands forward.com/news/840971/...

An Illinois farmer thought he knew how his family survived the Nazis. Then he went to the town that saved them.

Nik Jakobs, a farmer building a synagogue in an Illinois cornfield, traveled to the Netherlands — where nearly 100 villagers kept the secret that saved his family, and where their descendants are reen...

In recent weeks, congressmen like Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) and Rep. Michael Rulli (R-OH) have leveled racist attacks against immigrant communities in their districts. As I note in CAMPAIGN TRAILS, a century ago those same racist attacks were being made against people named Emmer and Rulli.

Pulling Up the Ladder

In recent weeks, Republican representatives in Congress have repeatedly insisted that specific groups of immigrants in their communities will never be assimilated into American life, that they pose a ...

Reminder for those who care about the Jewish community: today marks 20 years since a mass shooting at the offices of the local Jewish Federation in Seattle. Pamela Waechter, the director of Federation's annual fundraising campaign, was murdered.

I also agree with Science that there is zero point trying to “argue” with or “debate with” or “find common cause with” MAHA/MAGA dudes: “These people want money and they want power and they want revenge, and no amount of evidence or reasoned argument is going to slow them down. Save your breath.”

Science, preach 👏👏👏 “The Trump administration hates academic science funding, full stop. They hate where that money goes, & they hate who it goes to. They want to keep all that money for themselves, to hand out to favored cronies who can help them get elected” www.science.org/content/blog...

The pro-peptide stacked FDA advisory committee voted to lift the ban for BPC-157, as expected. This ban lifting is baseless and will give the public a sense of legitimacy for a peptide with no clinical trial data to support safety or efficacy. Pathetic.
