Oh wow: ESA announces it has a positive detection of the SpaceX Falcon 9 upper stage booster impacting the moon! I still haven't seen any images of a flash, but that's not surprising. It was faint. Here, they saw evidence of gas (vaporized material) in the impact plume by taking spectra.

Earlier today, the discarded upper stage of a Falcon 9 rocket impacted on the Moon. As part of a coordinated observing campaign, our Very Large Telescope detected spectral lines of sodium and lithium gas in the impact plume lasting for 5-10 minutes after impact. 🔭 🧪 📷 ESO/C. Schmidt et al. 1/4

That is much closer to what the AGs wanted as opposed to Paramount’s request for a November trial date. It also places the Ellisons perilous close to the June must-close date. If this has to go through appeals following a bad ruling for Paramount, you could see Warner just demand its $7b kill fee.

HEADS UP: A controlled blast is rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. tonight near the Georgetown University entrance on Canal Rd NW for the Potomac River Tunnel Project. Expect a brief traffic stop, loud noise and light shaking. Traffic will resume once the area is cleared.

Crews drill a pattern of holes into the bottom of the shaft in preparation for controlled blasting. The holes are carefully placed to hold explosives, which are detonated to safely break up rock and allow excavation to continue deeper underground.

Actually, Americans are just like you. ~20-30% of them genuinely support fascism, as in ~every 🇪🇺 country. You are just more fortunate to have political institutions & a multiparty system that prevent that 20-30% from fully capturing the center-right party, becoming 51%, & controlling the government.
