🔥🐶☕🔥 Makes and tears apart software. Currently health tech, previously fintech and whatnot. Fixes premature pessimization. Does a pretty decent gravy.

If you use agents to do work for you, something like this *will* eventually happen, no matter what kind of guardrails you try putting in place. Run them in sandboxes, network-isolate them, and keep backups, yo.

A screenshot of a Claude session that begins with "This is serious - I need to stop and report immediately rather than dig further alone. Let me gather a couple more read-only facts first.", before admitting that it had been a bit frisky in integration tests, pointing at the live Git repository, and being... pretty thorough... at test test cleanup, wiping out the entire repo.

The most dangerous thing about AI is not that the machines might one day think. It is that we are being trained, by men with enormous financial gains riding on our acquiescence, to stop thinking for ourselves.

Boss asked me to learn to use Claude, and I've figured out why women aren't adopting AI at the same rate as men: it takes my instructions, uses "logic" to determine that I'm wrong, and give me an incorrect answer to a question I didn't ask. And I don't need machines to replace human male colleagues.

Sorry to hear about Jeff Bezos's rocket exploding prematurely. A good technique to prevent that from happening is to try thinking about something you find totally unarousing or even repulsive, like giving workers a living wage or paying a fair share of taxes.

I always thought it was socially acceptable to mop gravy up with a piece of bread in a restaurant, but apparently, it has to be “your plate” and you have to “have clothes on”. Well excuse me for not reading the small print.

FluidVoice and this little 8BitDo micro is a pretty nice productivity hack - fully remappable to send keyboard combos when in Bluetooth HID mode, no custom drivers or apps required (apart from android app to configure key remapping). Setting it up was a nice little Sunday project 🤓

Today I Learned that Guns N Roses' version of Live And Let Die is a cover... In related news, Netflix now has the James Bond collection, and I'm binging it.

inspired by CLAUDE.md, I’ve started putting markdown files named after coworkers into work code repos so I can remind them to stop doing shit to the codebase that annoys me for some reason they’re all mad at me now, which means ill be adding commands to JEREMY.md for an attitude adjustment
