I can understand how a normal person in 2001 could get sincerely swept up in the tsunami of fear and grief and become a mark for propaganda. There’s no excuse for it this time. It’s so stupid and unconvincing that, to fall for it, you’d need to have wanted to fall for it well in advance
She also really debunks the common justifications about religion, region, and age. Your grandparents and parents have shitty values because they have shitty values, not because of anything else. They could do better. Anyone can use their eyes to see the world and have the correct read.
Jack Feerick@jackfeerick.bsky.social · 3d agoWhat Dolly taught us is that it is in fact possible to be wealthy beyond your wildest dreams of avarice but still be a fundamentally good person with a strong moral compass, and the only reason more rich people aren't like that is because they don't want to be.
I have students wearing these and I cannot express how much I hate it.

It has funded FREE school lunch for ALL students, FREE buses in lowest income communities (people can get to work, etc.), and FREE community college. And "exodus" was minimal.
Here's the thing. If I know/notice genAI used in any part of your project, no matter how small, I will assume you used it for all of it, and I won't be interested at all. Why should I care if you don't?

It's silently costing people friends and other connections, too. If I see that you are posting or reposting gen AI content I'm unlikely to say anything but I will immediately lose interest in striking up any kind of conversation, friendship, or working relationship. And I know I'm not the only one.

I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.

The whole point of the Bill of Rights is to protect the only true minority - the individual. It limits the governments power to harm the individual. The whole constitution is designed to limit the governments power.
My son got his as soon as he could, at around six, to protect his baby sister and grandfather with cancer. I can still see his proud face. He is a patriot and a hero, more than anyone peddling nonsense.

Even though we disagreed on much, he was always willing to negotiate, with humor and wit. My heart goes out to his loved ones.
Here is Graham gloating about "killing all the right people." Just in case you see anyone try to do the whole "we should have decency for the dead" nonsense.

Trying to pick apart a woman's text messages to prove she's lying about being raped is gutter behavior. Consent can be revoked at any time and reading insinuations into text messages that the sender denies were there is ACTUAL journalistic malpractice. I would not trust a man who does this!
I believe people who do horrible things can make amends and reform their ways. In the cases of abusing power the path to healing means the perpetrator giving up power and being prevented from regaining power over others.

This is an important point that it seems like a lot of people don't fully grasp. We don't impose *legal* penalties until something is proved to appropriate standards in a court case. But we don't need legal findings to make judgements like "I don't trust him" and vote for someone else.

Maybe now we can also mention the endorsement for the white supremacist conspiracy theorist, the way he channeled Protocols of Elders of Zion, his silence in response to an explicit Nazi endorsement? Not because Platner was himself a Nazi; because he was, & is, a disingenuous opportunistic asshole.
