Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.

They were strange days—curious dream-like days—and they followed each other silently, like shadows over grain fields. Edith Allonby, The Fulfilment, 1905.

Two times The Unknown Woman of the Seine. Resting on one of my very few walls that isn’t completely book lined. Took me years to find her - and when I finally did, she was just a street away. The other is a smaller version, made in Germany in 1939.

My latest find takes me on a journey to 1920s German-Austrian occult orders as Pansophia, Bauherren, Loge Hekate and Faternitas Saturni. A descent into the dark heart of German-Austrian esoterism. A small window on the absolute elsewhere (1918-1933), slammed shut when the Nazis came to power.
I found this obscure publication, only 22 copies published. Much non-human contact occurred in the G:.D:., its offshoots and members during their 19th century astral travel rituals. I wrote a 7,000 word paper on astral travel that was published in the ‘UFO Encyclopedia’, 4th edition, this year.
I'm always disappointed to receive a limited edition, indie press hardback only to find that it's print on demand. 1/2

@valancourtbooks.bsky.social were the guys who at first were cordially and we had nice conversations - but then blocked me over at Twitter (now X) because I dared voice my concern about their republication of a highly mysoginist book that was based on a true torture-femicide.

#PhantomsFriday 'Ghosts I have Seen' by Scottish spiritualist & psychic, Violet Tweedale (1862-1936) who was also a prolific author. Arthur Conan Doyle wrote the introduction to another of her books, 'Phantoms of the Dawn'.

This came in today thanks to the tireless postal worker (we have a heatwave here at the moment): two issues from 1933 (July and October) of ‘The Inner Light’, published by Dion Fortune’s order. They are quite rare these days. I have about seven other issues from 1937 to 1940.
Another view from my library. I don't have a couch. Too many bookcases:)

A weird Wednesday shelfie from my library. I am always amazed at how many strange books were published. After decades of reading, searching and studying, not a day goes by where I am learning of the existence of other weird books.
#TheVictorianBookoftheDead Old chestnut, Punch, 1876 Medium: The Spirit of the late Mr. Jones is present. Jone’s Widow (with emotion): I hope you are happy Jones! Jones (raps): Far happier than I ever was on earth! Jones’s Widow: Oh, Jones! Then you must be in Heaven! Jones: On the contrary!
