New taxes are already prohibited without ballot measures in California. Props 41 - 44 are designed to negate the billionaire tax. That's all. Prop 45 removes environmental restrictions for data centers. We're so easily fooled, it's sad. YES on prop 40 (billionaire tax) NO on props 41-45.

There are few places that can rival California with its eclectic natural beauty. We have a disparate collection of ecosystems that is unparalleled in all the world. Yes, I'm biased as a native Californian, but it's true. We also have the dumbest voters. They mean well, but they're easy marks.

Three AI animated series are heading to Prime Video streaming via Amazon MGM/AWS-backed GenAI Creators' Fund: 'Cupcake & Friends;' 'Love, Diana Music Hunters;' and 'Punky Duck' from Jorge Gutierrez.

This really is it, this is the part that keeps me raging against the machine. Every day of my career I’m shoulder to shoulder with incredible people, pouring their skill & point of view into the work they do, making choices that amaze and delight me. Frame by frame, drawing by drawing…that’s THE job

Any time a creative turns to this tech, they are saying "I do not respect the people who do this thing. I do not value their creative contribution to my vision. I think they are so worthless, they can be replaced by the machine that ate their work." It's not surprising this is seen as hostile.

Using AI for your art references not only gives you a skewed & inaccurate view of the world, it also puts resource providers like myself & all these awesome people out of work! Using REAL photo references is what levels up your art AND supports the stock/resource community! ❤️💪

IMPERDIBLE entrevista.

I've seen people trying to defend it today by saying "No, no, I just use it to brainstorm, bounce ideas, I do the actual writing" and with all the kindness in the world I need to tell you: if there is a stage of writing you are not good at, you need to get good, not use the plagiarism machine.

I keep seeing "all authors use AI, the real issue is they're being forced to be sneaky about it" headlines. Full stop No. This is a lie peddled for normalization. It's schoolyard-level pressure tactics "C'mon, all the cool kids are already doing it. We won't tell. It's fine. We're on your side."

I met with AI data labelers in Kenya who are organizing their colleagues to fight the brutal working conditions and horrible pay given to the workers at the "bottom of the AI supply chain." They believe the NDAs they've signed are unenforceable so are speaking out: www.404media.co/ai-is-africa...

'AI Is African Intelligence': The Workers Who Train AI Are Fighting Back

Kenyan workers are still the underpaid labor behind AI training, moderation, and sex chatbots. The Data Labelers Association is fighting back.

AI Isn’t Lightening Workloads. It’s Making Them More Intense.: "It’s not that AI doesn’t create efficiency. It’s that the capacity it frees up immediately gets repurposed into doing other work, and that’s where the creep is likely to happen." www.wsj.com/tech/ai/ai-i...

The technology is increasing the speed, density and complexity of work rather than reducing it, a new analysis of 164,000 people’s work activity shows.

ppl who still commission their favourite artists even in this era where everyone is broke and genAI is being pushed on us at every opportunity—you are appreciated more than words can express!!!

I’ve watched a very smart child try to encode what chaptgpt thinks is “human” so that her class assignments don’t get flagged for plagiarism. I’ve heard expert professionals admit to self-editing so they don’t “sound” like an llm. This is the kind of cultural flattening that accelerates fascism.

“As some universities and journals adopt AI-text detectors, they risk creating a feedback loop that constrains how authors express themselves. I have seen colleagues intentionally simplify their grammar or break down complex rhetorical structures to avoid arousing algorithmic suspicion.”
