This is the letter kids got at the end of Dolly’s Imagination Library. I defy you to read this and not cry.

But the numbers don’t need network ratings to be true. Two Black mayors, backed by Black leadership and community partners who never stopped showing up, took cities the country loves to write off and made them measurably safer. That’s not a fluke. (cont.)
Incredible work today in Court demanding basic human rights & dignity for Montanans. I am lucky to know the brilliant, kickass atty arguing against sex discrimination - montanafreepress.org/2026/08/13/j... No one should be targeted by these disgusting bills. The world is better with you in it 🏳️⚧️

@moiradonegan.bsky.social notes "“If this was true, I would be in jail” is not a real profession of innocence; it is a brag about how strenuously the state protects the male right of private sphere violence against women and children."
my dad, an engineer, always told me when I was growing up “sometimes the most efficient way is the inefficient way” and ngl it has saved my butt so many times
This concept was introduced to me as "run the dishwasher twice" and was an important part of my executive functioning recovery as well as my path to self-acceptance.
Good luck on the Bar exam! Great tips in this thread. Also, concur 💯 about not over stressing. You already have marketable skills and this test does not define you or your future. BREATHE.
The bar exam is next week. I teach the bar studies course every spring at Akron and I coach students for the July exam every summer. If you are studying for the bar (or know someone who is) I have some thoughts for you as you approach the exam. 🧵
Any digital accessibility specialists looking for work? A recruiter just contacted me about a full-time 12-month gig. They say it's remote for New England candidates. But maybe the location might be more flexible? I don't know. I can share the details I have with anyone interested.
5th Circuit? Huh. Firearm prohibitions for domestic violence offenders was also raised in Senate AG hearing today. DV Homicide rates are up across country even while other homicide rates reach historic lows. Maybe DOJ could release critical funds for prevention+response programs to save lives.
5th Cir.: it does not violate the 2A to prohibit a person convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence from possessing firearms bc the ban is consistent with a historical tradition of disarming people who threaten the physical safety of others. www.ca5.uscourts.gov/opinions/pub...
DC, we're in the middle of another heat wave. ☀️🌡️ If you're a renter, and your AC is broken or your water is being disconnected — we have your back. Please call our Consumer and Tenant Response unit at 202-442-9828, and we will work to get the cool air or cool water flowing again.
Also: this isn’t just about science. This will devastate the entire federal grant funding process, which means all academic research grants, arts grants, community project grants, agriculture grants, conservation grants, etc. Please leave a comment opposing this change.
TOMORROW (Monday) is the LAST DAY to leave a public comment about the proposed OMB proposal that will be an absolute disaster for science if adopted. Follow the link below for instructions on leaving a good comment.
For science! For education! For life saving gender based violence prevention and survivor support! … please submit a comment! There are several resources available on whichever field is most important to you. Reach out if you need help!
For folks asking why bother commenting because the OMB won't care: comments help build cases for the courts by explicitly laying out harms. That's why it's really important to have your comments be as specific as possible. Also, contact your senators and reps! They actually do care about this.
I interviewed a former prosecutor yesterday who said this one thing that I cannot stop thinking about : “I think the most radical thing I learned from becoming a prosecutor is how much violence women face in this country and how little people care.”
It can be Pride month every day if you have enough rainbow stickers and homosexuality to go around.

Every authoritarian movement in history began by identifying a vulnerable group whose rights were framed as negotiable. How hard you are willing to fight for trans rights is the litmus test for whether or not you understand solidarity. It’s all of us or none of us.
"Trans rights are not the most important issue right now" Not standing up to protect our trans siblings is letting someone put a jackhammer into the foundation of human rights. It is absolutely critical we support one another.
calling women who take allegations of domestic violence seriously “HR ladies” is a way to diminish the power we have worked so hard to gain and make women feel annoying for caring. i hope women in this category know it is never annoying to care.
Domestic/IP abuse and violence are not in a separate category of behavior from rape, they are points along the exact same spectrum of gendered and sexualized violence. They have the same root motivations and similar impacts on survivors.
I'm seeing people post and repost, "ICE is not about immigration. ICE is about normalizing a paramilitary force on peaceful streets. Abolish ICE." Y'all, it's about more than one thing.
