"SpaceX remains its own biggest customer. There just aren’t enough other people who want its rockets. And, I dunno, maybe if the rockets were a primary focus of the company, SpaceX wouldn’t be in danger of blasting a new crater into the Moon with its space trash." Read more: buff.ly/d9lBTQN

I'm very grateful to the HWA board for quickly and resoundingly rejecting Giron's opinion piece and removing her from the board. This was 100% the right call, and frankly, I wasn't entirely sure it would be made. But the statement pulls no punches and leaves no room for doubt. That's good. ... 1/?
How anyone at the HWA let that pro-AI essay be published is beyond me. It's not just the stance or the tired argument about "gatekeeping" so much as the fact that it reads like the worst kind of angry Facebook post your parents ever embarrassed you with. The editor should be ashamed they let ... 1/?
It is worth noting that the writer of that HWA newsletter telling people to embrace AI, has an AI based coaching app they are selling
Finally got around to watching Backrooms. It was extremely fine. Immensely okay. But no, there's some good shit in there. I especially admired the choice to make every shot feel liminal, even cityscapes and other interstitials. Doesn't really hang together too well or say much, but I had a fun time
A ★★★ review of Backrooms (2026)
There's a lot to like about Backrooms, but also not a lot of it holds together as well as it could've. The visual and sound design are great. It's not a "scary" film in particular, more discomfiting, ...

yeah no thanks, I just read the synopsis of Threads last night
This is maybe the scariest episode I've ever released. Annie Jacobsen joins me for a conversation about BIOLOGICAL WAR: A SCENARIO - her speculative non-fiction menace of a book, in which she traces an engineered pathogen from its lab escape to the end of civilisation. Enjoy. Sort of.

I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
Fuckin hell yeah! Clash is awesome, Joe is awesome, dead boys are ... well, I don't know, context matters. Either way, this is great news. Congrats, can't wait to read it!
In case you missed it, here's the PW announcement! We're already finalizing the ARC & cover. I am excited. I am ready to make you suffer.
Man, today sucked. Time to hunker down and finally watch Hokum, a movie I wanted to see in theaters but couldn't because I couldn't afford to drive an hour and a half to see it.

On Jan. 11, Gregory Bovino watched as his Border Patrol agents dragged a man out of his car at a St. Paul Speedway, knelt on his back until he lost consciousness, and dragged his limp body into the back of a van. The man's name is Orbin Mauricio Henriquez Serrano and this is his story.

The only other time a second-term president had approval ratings this low at this point in the cycle, he resigned a week later.
Finally getting around to watching Weapons. I'm only like, what, 8 months late or something? A year? So far I'm digging it, anyway.
