It’s very telling that opening your publication to MAGA “thought” requires a massive downgrade in quality control.

The fact that VP JD Vance and Richard Grenell went to Romania—on behalf of the Trump Administration— to advocate for Andrew and Tristan Tate, who by all accounts, were rapists running a coercive sex ring, then permitted them to come to Florida, should be a crazy, crazy scandal.

This is like in 2016 when The Boston Globe made a parody front page with imagined negative headlines from a future Trump presidency, except it's the front page of the Wall Street Journal, the details are worse, and it's real.

Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.
