While I'm thinking about this, a lot of my favorite Sega games are one-offs that never got a sequel. They'll let their devs go do whatever, and when they find That Big Hit, their management zeroes in on that hit and decides it is their new golden goose. And most of the time they kill it immediately.

Folks need to remember that Sega is very bad about capitalizing on a hit most of the time. Their devs make one good thing, maybe they get a good sequel out of it, and if they're lucky, they can get a trilogy. But MOST of the time, they're forcing out a Golden Axe: Beast Rider or Altered Beast 2005.

This is a great profile on the late Michiyo Yasuda. One of the most influential color designers in animation history. She led the incredible color design for My Neighbor Totoro and Grave of the Fireflies SIMULTANEOUSLY!
