Scottish and European #scotsabroad, Luxy. Proud of both my homeland and adopted country. Scottish independence supporter. Tiresome typos blamed on ebullient enthusiasm and paltry proofreading.

Nothing could be more damaging to our climate and the future of the North East than offering up even more of our North Sea to oil and gas giants. To create well-paid, long-term jobs in the North East and tackle the climate emergency, we must invest in renewables.

Scottish Labour leadership candidate backs North Sea jobs and calls for Rosebank and Jackdaw developments to be approved

This is pure extraction of wealth from one group of people to another We urgently need: Windfall tax on oil giants Windfall tax on banks Both are creaming money off us during a cost of living crisis Even Thatcher had the balls to tax the banks Will you @andyburnham?

Major oil firms make $93bn profits in just 3 months amid war and climate crisis. They shift profits, dodge taxes, fuel poverty and inflation. They don't bear the social cost of their business. Forever holding people/govts to ransom. Polluters must pay. Need windfall tax now.

My feeling is that the UK is fissuring. We have experienced crises in different ways in our different nations and even within. The State is not fit for purposeand imposes dysfunction from the centre. Pressure is building. It wont hold for ever. Eventually a crisis will arrive that proves too much.

On top of operating costs private healthcare companies pay huge salaries to CEOs & directors siphoning off massive profits to shareholders But Farage & Lowe want us believe having £billions less money to play with enables private healthcare providers to give a better more caring service Idiocy!

There's 1. glass half full people 2. glass half empty people and 3. OMG that glass is about to shatter into 1000 pieces slashing my carotid artery and it's the SNP's fault, people. The anti-independence media in Scotland is exclusively staffed by type 3.

So Badenoch would recruit a neo-Nazi but *not* someone who didn’t want to leave the ECHR or someone who supported our NetZero commitments. Second chances for this guy but not Dominic Grieve. The Tory party is truly wretched. It’s screwed the country, betrayed its own and lost its tiny mind.

Badenoch defends former neo-Nazi pick as council candidate
By Will Meakin-Durrant
Kemi Badenoch has said her party
"believes in second chances".
, after
the Conservatives selected a former neo-Nazi once jailed for harassing a Jewish former MP as a local election candidate.
Joshua Bonehill-Paine
posted on social media that he was "tremendously proud" that he has been chosen to stand for election to Somerset Coun-cil, in the Crewkerne South ward.
Bonehill-Paine (inset) was jailed in 2016 after he was convicted of racially aggravated harassment.
He wrote several blog posts about the former Labour MP for Liverpool Wavertree, Baroness Luciana Berger, labelling her "an evil money-grabber" with a "deep-rooted hatred of men".

He was previously jailed for producing an ad illustrated with a picture of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz, which promised "an absolute gas" at a rally in Golders Green, north London.
Badenoch said: "I want to be very clear - and I think people can look at me and know that I'm not a person who would be recruiting neo-Nazis.
"Josh is someone who actually has been certified by the Home Office to train police officers on antisemitism and on countering extremism.
"Yes, he [has] previously convicted but he has shown contrition for his crimes, has been rehabilitated and is spending every day working to solve the very problem which he knew that he had caused previously.
"And the Conservative Party believes in second chances."

We could build a "Council of the Isels" to establish cooperation on infrastructure etc. Some EU States already cooperate in a similar way e.g. Benelux, Nordic Union etc

I'm delighted to hear that BP doubled their profits, making £4.2bn in just 3 months. Not that I have any vested interest in it, other than the £50,000 given to us by the wife of former senior BP executive James Hay.
