One of the problems if you started with 5e and want to try PF2e is both the players and DM need to devote time to learn a more crunchy system in the same niche of heroic fantasy - or you could just keep playing 5e for your fantasy fix and spend that time trying systems from other genres.

Unfortunately only I and 8 other people played more than 2 sessions of 4E because a D&D game being mechanically sound is anathema to the spirit of D&D as defined by its player base.

4E had pretty extensive Dark Sun support but they turned it into a big ongoing metaplot thing a lot of people disliked so I’m assuming they’re going to roll it back to the 2E default and then only support it infrequently (this is also what they’re doing for Greyhawk)

Perfect illustration of the AI deskilling project trap. If you want to pretend these things are a tool (they're not) then you're completely beholden to having your tools changed or taken away by a black box system that changes on a whim. You're now completely reliant on the thing they took away.

Hand of Fate: Hordes is so surprisingly fun. I was a bit cautious after Vampire Crawlers ended up not being hugely engaging for me, but the "DRG Survivor but make it Hand of Fate" has all the CYOA charm of the original HoF and the bullet heaven chops, with some fun character classes.

The frequency with which I see slop peddlers in TTRPG spaces is hugely disappointing. Having music, images, plots, etc. slopped out by genAI doesn't increase anything's production value. It makes everything impersonal, generic, and is in direct opposition to everything that makes this hobby rad.
