Dr Mary Ann Stevenson was appointed EHRC leader over the objections of the W&E Commitee by an ideological bigot for a singular, specific reason, and we're screamed at to pretend like the whole intestinal tract of state which has produced this shit is apolitical and innocent

The EHRC guidance slipped its way into law by default overnight. Do not self-police and do not let toilet weirdos and changing room weirdos dictate how you go about your life.

Came home to a letter from the House of Commons. Joked to my Tamar it would be a "hello I'm your MP" type shit, but given my recent communication with my MP re:ehrc and NHS, it might be more substantial My MP, after 2 years, is only now starting surgeries. It is literally "hello I'm your MP"

Soft Rains Day. "Today is August 4, 2026, in the city of Allendale, California. Today is Mr. Featherstone's birthday. Today is the anniversary of Tilita's marriage. Insurance is payable, as are the water, gas, and light bills." RIP Ray Bradbury, 1920-2012

There Will Come Soft Rains
By: Ray Bradbury

In the living room the voice-clock sang, Tick-tock, seven o'clock, time to get up, time to get up, seven o 'clock! as if it were afraid that nobody would. The morning house lay empty. The clock ticked on, repeating and repeating its sounds into the emptiness. Seven-nine, breakfast time, seven-nine!
In the kitchen the breakfast stove gave a hissing sigh and ejected from its warm interior eight pieces of perfectly browned toast, eight eggs sunny side up, sixteen slices of bacon, two coffees, and two
cool glasses of milk.
"Today is August 4, 2026," said a second voice from the kitchen ceiling, "in the city of Allendale, California." It repeated the date three times for memory's sake.
"Today is Mr. Featherstone's birthday. Today is the anniversary of Tilita's marriage. Insurance is payable, as are the water, gas, and light bills."

This is, imo, absolutely the consequence of politicians, media figures and others being actively unwilling to condemn this behaviour

news.sky.com/story/nhs-st... stereotypically this has been seen as Old People, but not only would the old people of now have often been born post-Windrush, lot of this will be younger people who've always lived in a diverse Britain. The guy with a pregnant wife likely millennial at oldest

My favourite bit of The Odyssey is when Agamemnon tells Odysseus to not put his dick in the toaster and the rest of the movie has people noting that Odysseus isn't a toaster fucker so it's not great advice
