Probably much like pictures of me alive, except I'll be even paler, and since I won't be able to edit, my under eye circles will be on full display. Also, I imagine that in death, I'll revert back to my childhood ineptitude at smiling, so I'll appear to be baring my teeth. #13MorbidMondays

Recently, the most ghost-filled narrative I read was R.F. Kuang's 'Katabasis'. Technically it wasn't just a ghost story, it was a full-on journey to the underworld tale. But there were plenty of ghosts featured in the various realms of the afterlife (Elspeth is defo best dead girl). #13MorbidMondays

He was thirty when he died, but he looks aged and worn out, his skin darkened and wrinkled like a piece of jerky left out in the sun, and his hair thinning and graying. But what’s most shocking are his eyes, with those pupils like castaways floating in a void of absolute blackness. #13MorbidMondays

I'd haunt personal library collections, appearing as a wisp of ectoplasmic tea steam riffling the pages of freshly opened volumes from to-be-read piles. Scents of musty bookshop proliferate everything. In photographs, orderly bookshelves appear as disorganised, teetering piles. #13MorbidMondays

I think it would be in a kitchen, and I would be looking somewhere other than at the camera. Maybe I'm disinterested in what's going on around me. Maybe I'm looking for something, or someone. It'll be interesting to find out. #13MorbidMondays

I recently read James Stoorie's 'Mistoorie: The Autobiography Of A Feral Child' - while not a ghost story, it does have wonderfully tragic ghosts in it, and the supernatural sections I especially loved. Highly recommend. #13MorbidMondays

They are paler still, like a photocopy of a living being, the ink running out at the end of a lengthy print run. The eyes have softened, emptying and the smile once forced, comes more easily. The shadowy face less frightening without the pain. #13MorbidMondays

The ancient world, specifically prehistoric europe and ancient egypt. Humans haven't changed at all. The renaissance. A time of innovation and plague. 1910-1930s. WW1, the roaring 20s, the great depression. I draw a lot on looks, and drama from this period for my story telling.

The Victorian era - the culture, the fashion/aesthetic, the personalities and the age of Spirituality. As a lover of the gothic, it appeals to me. I am currently researching the age of spirituality and how it presented in Australia for a book involving the two dolls pictured here. #13MorbidMondays

As a teenager, the assassination of JFK was an obsession for a while. The film was coming out and the talk it got going about the event had me wrapped up in it. How public and grotesque the death was, how his body was handled after, and all the theories of how and why to this day. #13MorbidMondays

I recall reading about a lonely stretch of highway in Australia where cruel inhuman Native Australian camps had once been. An alarming number of vehicle accidents happen there as people claim to swerve to avoid figures suddenly walking across the road in front of them...to vanish. #13MorbidMondays
