Just had meeting with kiddo's school. She has been fully supported, treated with full equality & dignity for years. All of that changes from September. Full segregation & humiliation across the board. The school staff cried in the meeting. This will absolutely lead to children's deaths 1/2
At 11.30pm - they predicted Burnham would get over 50%, would beat Josh Simons majority and that Restore were underperforming. They are unparalleled.
It is a universal truth that if you want to know how things are actually going at a by-election count, find the Liberal Democrat huddled over a laptop entering data.
This is unworkable and a huge step backwards for human rights. I will be calling on the Government to urgently rethink this before it's too late.
One thing I truly believe is that no one in the LGBT community should let Wes Streeting get away with saying he's the "first out gay prime minister" because we do not claim him.
For god’s sake Labour the answer to Keir Starmer is not Wes Streeting. There is in fact no problem in existence where the solution is Wes Streeting. You and we will just be back where we are now in a year’s time.
we have a nuclear power station in the sky and can make batteries out of salt but if 21 nm of water get closed we have a global energy crisis idk bruh, i am not a scientist, but this seems dumb as ballz
Huge thanks to @eddavey.libdems.org.uk for joining @jolyon.goodlawproject.org and others on the Trans Mission stage to reaffirm the @libdems.org.uk party's long-standing and fundamental support for Trans+ rights. 🧡 goodlawproject.org/jo-maugham-t... #transrights
I've been asking Democracy Volunteers, the organisation who said they saw family voting in the Gorton and Denton by-election, if they would give details about evidence or methodology. They have now released an updated statement - which is still quite vague. democracyvolunteers.org/family-votin...
Democracy Volunteers ‘Family Voting’ and how to prevent it in Future Elections
Democracy Volunteers has been observing elections in the UK for 10 years. We have seen ‘family voting’ across the UK and we think it is important to explain more about it and how it should be possi…

This should be used in every academic politics class and every activist training session. Whether we like it or not this is how politics works in the real world, outside the hyper engaged 10%. (I’m unclear if Owen understood the lesson.)
One of the most surreal answers I've ever been given.
The booke of love ys long & boringe No folk kan lyft the damned thinge Crammid ful of charters & lore & rubrics And ynstructiouns for daunsing - But Ich? Ich love it whan thou readest to me; And thee, thou kanst reade me eny thinge. ("The Book of Love" by The Magnetic Fields)
The songs that hit me hardest in 2025, a mix of scuzzy indie, techno, pop, folk and chaotic rock. Best listened to on shuffle.

This is from Autocracy, Inc, about how modern autocratic propaganda works. I consider this every time I decide what to share and how to frame it.
Some good news. London is meeting legal limits for toxic NO2 pollution for the first time – almost 200 years earlier than predicted – following the Mayor’s "world leading air pollution policies," City Hall announces. The Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and similar policies - really do work.
Bless those who think the Home Office can successfully carry out a huge IT procurement exercise for digital ID cards for implementation before the next general election.
“This policy is a fucking disgrace and will do harm to the people it affects, our economy, our services, and it’s morally reprehensible” is the correct response not “haha your numbers are wrong and it may not even be legal”
Some more culture war pushback from the Lib Dems - people who use the union jack or St George’s cross as a form of aggressive nationalism do not love their country, Tim Farron tells their conference. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
UK and St George’s flags should never be used to ‘intimidate and terrify’, says senior Lib Dem
‘How dare the nationalists steal our flags?’ asks Tim Farron at party conference in Bournemouth

NOTHING will prepare you for this 45-second story arc. From "I'm just doing this because I love the flag, it's totally grassroots, and I'm not part of anything political"... to who actually gave him the flags the night before. Anyone who believes it is an innocent movement needs to see this.
The media making out like the Robinson Rally was huge. 150,000 is tiny! Compare it to the 'Free Palestine' march (up to 800,000), the anti-Brexit march (650,000) or the Iraq war demo (1.5 Million) Disproportionate attention given to the gammon, as always.
FFS!!! The New ‘Executive Director of Communications’ - Tim Allen - was a Trustee at transphobic lobby group ‘Sex Matters’ until this morning!!! 😖😖😤 Don’t tell me the ‘trans lobby’ are powerful while transphobes sit in Number 10 Downing Street! 😠😡 👉🏻 www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
