I’ve been painting for a long time. I did my first woodgraining in… 1997? So tell me how, when I sat down to create a fantasy woodgrain today it was like it was the first time I’d ever seen paint. Nothing. Nada. Like the yips for art-skills.

A new example of Meta shithousery. This is a post of mine on Instagram (left). Click the dots top right and this advisory note appears (right). I never use ai, never will. Why would they do this? Who benefits? Are they just trying to make viewers think everything is genAI so they just accept it?
Well crud. I just realized that I made a mistake. I have to rip almost the whole thing apart. Down to the border.
I ended up experimenting a lot with this one, pouring layers of ink washes over the watercolor and building up with pastels. I'm trying to get a look that is soft and textured but still has clear strong details in places. I haven't gotten it down yet quite the way I want, but this is a step closer!
