Short, rumpled Scotsman. Has a terrible pain in all the diodes down his left hand side. Not on social media as much as he used to be but if he is, it will be occasional writing and a lot of stupid bollocks. He/Him https://munchkinstein.co.uk

Today is the day the story There Will Come Soft Rain is set. An amazing and heartbreaking work of fiction for our modern age. Read it here:
Someone posted this picture of neolithic lego scenes to r/Scotland on reddit so blessing your timeline with it:
Here’s the latest stop motion animation from my Tiny Angry Witch team. (I’m the writer, I can’t take credit for the animating!) It’s one of our longest, and it nearly drove us all mad, but we’re really proud of getting it made! 1 x Tiny Angry Witch 1 x broom No AI
The 'fun' I'm having looking for a job, where my experience is solidly in the "I'll phaff about with your data to get a decent KPI or report for you" area, where a good 3/4 of adverts mention using AI for stuff I know doesn't need it. Hurry up and pop, bubble, it'll be easier for me to find a job.
My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain) The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.
it's crazy to me people still insist ai for research is reliable when we now have an Hbomberguy video's worth of evidence that its unreliability is tanking Hank Green's career
The big guy with the teeth from the Bond films has retired with his wife to a small village in the Highlands where he sheers sheep with his teeth and lives an idyllic life until "Big Tweed" tries to run him out of business.
let's pretend: Universal announces a screenwriting contest for Jaws 5. What's your pitch?
Today is the 20th day of the year in which a temperature of 32 °C or higher has been recorded in the UK - this exceeds the previous record of 19 days in 1995 📈

Did you know that the GSFWC (@gsfwc.bsky.social) is forty years old this year? Well it is, and as part of too much thinking about that, I bring you the first in a (slowly) building set of blog posts with my thoughts on it. www.munchkinstein.co.uk/index.php/20...

Pet theory: when you go looking for an unusual bird and can't find it, the wretched creature is usually doing something like this. (Also: osprey on the Clyde! Wow.)
An Osprey over the Clyde this afternoon. I looked upriver from Parklea and saw a guy fishing at the Finlaystone burn and assumed that meant there would be no birds around there. When i looked again I realised the Osprey was sitting very near him on top of a post. #birds
Honestly I saw this on tiktok and lost my mind. His delivery. He SELLS this
never thought short form video would be able to capture a type of humor i can only describe as “the far side-esque” but this comes close.
A few of my classic series of radio documentaries are available here. So if you're interested in Scottish literature, language, nationalism, the Declaration of Arbroath, Don Roberto, the Complete Caledonian Imbiber etc etc you'll enjoy these. www.youtube.com/c/IndyMatter...
This is the best desert based joke. The only other one I have isn't worth mentioning as it's just a trifle.
I think there’s a Scots joke about a pavlova – or a meringue?
Oh cool, this was a fun thing to learn. Apparently if you store your docs in an external hdd, Windows helpfully puts the attribute "Archive Indexed" in its properties. Which it abbreviates, naturally, to "AI". PSA: this is not a "ChatGPT wrote this file" indication!!
Bunny Rabbits, guest reporting on the weekend running weather: Shitty wet followed by muggy as. Best to stop in the burrow for a nice cup of tea, if you can.

"this scenario can be exploited in common AI coding tools ranging from Cursor to Microsoft’s Copilot, at rates of anywhere form 85 to 100 percent"
This is what happens when you try to do something without learning how to do it first. All those apps, all those web sites, all those patches, all those Linux commits, all of them ticking time bombs because dipshits thought "vibe coding" made them real programmers.

Don't touch the figs... I, Claudius is being repeated on BBC Four from Weds 29 July.
Comté is the boss at present, although I do like a good fousty blue like a decent Stilton or Lanark Blue. Quite partial to Minger too, but that's as much for the name.
People on Bluesky sigh and talk about The Discourse as if it were something required of them instead of something they opt to partake in, day in and day out. You really don't have to. Post about your favorite cheese
