The vandalism and desecration of the White House isn't just vanity and it's not trivial. It's caesarism, as in literally what Julius Caesar did to the symbolic architecture of civic republicanism. Our national iconography matters and allowing the disfiguring of it to persist is a substantive harm.
I wonder if all of the folks I see posting about putting in gardens next year to grow their own food for safety or expense reasons (awesome reasons), are the same folks that wanted to have chickens in their backyard for the “free eggs.” Planting & tending & harvesting is hard work & time-consuming,

We should never name anything after anyone until at least 50 years after their death, with only the most minimal exceptions (ex: Zampa Bridge) and never if they were politicians. It's everyone's infrastructure. We don't all agree on who we like. And may need time to decide how we feel about them.

My pet law on this would be you can have Washington and Lincoln but no others. We don't need a USS Bill Clinton and USS George W. Bush, either (Biden did those on his way out the door).

I hate that we have let the nastiest racists on earth define and redefine our language. From "woke" to "DEI." Trump's policies are not anti-DEI. They are racist. US firms did not abandon DEI policies. They fired competent black women in droves on the basis of race and sex.

I didn’t come anywhere near this when I was on the Roosevelt (‘87-‘90) - I think we hit like 85 straight days at sea. But even that was miserable. This is an abuse of the force and will have long term repercussions

$900 million on White House construction! And if Trump's people are saying it's $900 million it's more likely going to be $3 billion. But don't you dare ask for lower drug prices, gas prices, food prices or affordable housing. Everyone needs to tighten their belts and make do, except Trump.
I gave the boys their trazadone because of the horrific storms and tornadoes all around us and, well, now I have two snoring Corgis who haven’t moved a muscle in over an hour. 🤣
I think they’re bamboozling me—we come out for potty every day at the same time and lately they just eat grass and hightail it inside, waiting for the cookie they get after a potty.
