That game dev teams are homogenously in agreement on the game's design. Every team I've been on has had a ton of debate and conflict on every single aspect of a game's design. "Did the devs just not notice X!?" yeah, half of us got in a real nasty knife fight with the other half. I lost an ear lobe.
game devs: what are the myths that a lot of players of games think are true about making games that are completely untrue? If you could snap your fingers and they suddenly all knew the truth about it what would it be?

I see some concerns raised about Godot's policy on contributions using AI. TL;DR: Godot isn't vibe-coded. As a whole, the Godot foundation and maintainers are fairly critical of AI usage, and don't make nor accept vibe-coded contributions. Godot doesn't include AI features nor intends to add any.

Wasn't #Expedition33 made entirely in Blueprints?
Star Wyse@starwyse.bsky.social ยท 2mo agoUnreal Engine's visual scripting language, Blueprints, are confirmed to be deprecated and eventually removed for UE6 As someone who was currently learning Blueprints, this is a MASSIVE middle finger from Epic Games. I can't write code, and this is such a better process for beginners like me-

Would this problem be non-existent if one had more self-confidence + assurance the shared boss won't be pulled along by the "complainers" into questioning their work? Sure. Alas, we live in a scary, capitalistic world and could be a bit more considerate of each other's roles & feelings regardless.

To show frustration, because no one gave your ideas any time before judging, or you had invisible constraints,... would be unprofessional.
What is it about working in #SocialMedia that everyone thinks they can do your job better themselves? That feedback doesn't need an appropriate place & time, that hearing personal opinions and anecdotes after you just posted something is super helpful and urgent, necessary even. From the SMM POV โฌ๏ธ

I think no music will ever have such a strong hold on me & my emotions as game soundtracks. A few notes of any Dragon Age melody can bring back so many memories, it's uncanny.

Mine has to be poor old Mary Lennoxโs family in The Secret Garden.
