Not only no culture, but no *commons*. The dependency on the capitalist overlords will be complete, because you can’t ask for help or context from others when there is no common frame of reference. This has already happened in coding, the first space where they destroyed the commons we’d all built.

It does terrible fucking things to your mind if you stop getting feedback like "dude what the fuck are you talking about?" Just look at how literally any billionaire speaks.
Have you noticed that people who spend too long chatting with chatbots, stop making any fucking kind of sense? The reason why is that the bot will never, ever, go "what the fuck are you talking about? What are you even trying to communicate here?"

Not because the chatbots are actually humans, but because the *user* is, and that says something about them www.researchgate.net/publication/...
imo it's somewhere on the continuum with "LLMs are not conscious or alive, but if they were, then what you're trying to do is called 'slavery'". the more convinced someone is that LLMs are conscious, the more their treatment of them reflects something about what they want to be able to do to people
Sarah Z@sarahz.bsky.social · 2d agoI don't think LLMs are conscious but I do think (and I don't know if there have been studies on this or if this has been verified, it is just something I think is likely) people who regularly use LLMs and also frequently behave extremely abusively to LLMs are more likely to be dicks to humans too
