Sigh. Raccoon raided the nest (in daylight) and ate one, knocking the nest down and killing the other. I'm bummed out, Mama Robin was hopping around staring at me not too long ago, probably because the raccoon was around :(

Couldn't get a good pic because of the angle but, we have 2 baby robins again! The mama Robin has never once alarm-called at me despite me constantly moving around underneath and talking to her. 🥰 I hope these two make it!

Through the crack between boards in a balcony you look down into a robin nest with two pink scrungly lookin baby birds snuggled together

Found a whole patch of stinkhorns (Phallus impudicus) growing in a stump, being utterly ravaged by a little swarm of carrion beetles!! 🍆 🪲 🍄📸 The beetles are mainly Necrophila americana, but also a new one to me, Oiceoptoma noveboracense.

A pile of stinkhorn mushrooms in a rotting stump, flopped over and in the process of being devoured by a scourge of carrion beetles and flies

I had 3 kids under 10 years old blast out in front of me at a 4 way stop sign, no helmets, no supervision of any kind. Motorized scooter and some sort of ebike. I am terrified driving through suburbs because I never know when a baby is going to pop out in front of me going vehicular speed.

Just finished a softball double header! I caught a ball deep in left field...with my stomach lol. Oh well, whatever works! Came very close to heat exhaustion by the end of the 2hrs in full sun..thankfully I could walk 100m and stand in the cold lake afterwards!

I’m still processing this 2 days later. I was sitting in a kayak when this baby beluga decided to play with me. Other whales joined in and you can see what happened next. What isn’t on camera is that one then started pushing me around the river for five-ish minutes. It was an unforgettable moment.

20,000 people! When will people connect the dots from this devastation to Carney’s slashing and burning of environmental regulations, of rights, and of all the rest of it? This dystopia is being fueled by Canadian nationalism, which is occluding people’s vision of what they are tacitly supporting.

Exactly this. The ban might say a trans guy can't use a male bathroom. But the intention of the ban, and the people behind it, is very much that he can't use the female bathroom either. When was the last time you were outside your own house for the length of a working day or more without peeing?

Instead of saying that all these laws "prohibit trans people from using the bathroom of their choice" we should be more clear. Bathroom bans are intended to prohibit trans people from using the bathroom, or any public accomodations, at all.. Like be for real here.

A couple of weeks ago I rode to Newburyport MA and saw this COVID memorial and realized this is the only one I have ever seen anywhere. And the fact that I nearly broke down seeing it is something I still think about.

For those who died and those who survived and all we list during the COVID-19 pandemic.
