The same really applies nationwide. It's why establishment Dems solidly backed Stevens.

Moderate- or conservative-coded independents running viable campaigns against GOP incumbents in dark red states is a reflection of exactly the dynamic that I'm talking about. And yes, it's a big problem for the GOP.
Someone in my replies mentioned the rise in red-state independent candidates as a sign of ongoing Dem weakness there, but my argument isn't that those states' GOP voters are turning Dem—it's that a chunk of them are growing more and more dissatisfied with the GOP.

The vast majority of Democrats (regular voters, activists, and electeds) are extremely serious about “Vote Blue No Matter Who” regardless of their ideological alignment.

"By using AI to do X, it keeps me from having to do X" is a statement that's clearly true in some circumstances, though the risk that AI is going to do X badly, and often invisibly badly, is a serious one. But "by using AI when I do X, I get better at doing X" seems clearly false in all instances.
It occurs to me that this is key to breaking down one of the ways that pro-AI and anti-AI people tend to talk past each other. There are things that AI can do *for* us, and that list of things is likely to grow. But I'm not seeing any serious examples of things that AI can do *with* us.

So far, the organizers mention data centers first at every single event. From racial justice orgs to old school activists who don’t usually think about tech policy. This has legs.
This is the absolutely most malicious framing where HAVING the option is the moral thing that matters and not people judging what that opinion is afterwards. Like do we not remember the common saying "opinions are like assholes..."

No. Primary margin does not matter, and isn’t predictive of the general election (Obama-Clinton close, Obama-McCain not; Clinton-Sanders close, Trump-Clinton close). Winning the nomination is what matters. Stop trying to force factional infighting on what’s shaping up to be a diverse popular front.
