Updating again -- today I talked to a community leader involved with both the acefoundationict.org and lgbtqks.org , she said both orgs are EXTREMELY grateful for the support and are already using money from donations to DIRECTLY SUPPORT TRANS PEOPLE IN KANSAS in meaningful and impactful ways!!

Update/Scoop— New guidance sent this AM to Kansas DMVs indicates licenses that previously had gender marker changed not actually invalid yet. However, internally DMV can see who is flagged, and keeping track of who has/hasn't come in to update. Seems about 300 trans/GNC ppl flagged across the state.

I understand the instinct to donate to orgs that are helping trans folks flee red states but let's not forget about the orgs that are still fighting for trans folks in red states.

also because it's Kansas, and it's a Bad State so it's not surprising for bad things to happen here, and it's our fault for living here anyway and trying to fight back and not just moving away (with all the disposable income we all have, you know a rich state like Kansas)
It is very hard not to have a safe choice to use the bathroom in public. It may be impossible to continue living, working, eating, etc without a valid driver's license if your life was built around driving and the assumption that your license wouldn't be invalidated overnight by the legislature.
Also obligatory disclaimer that I personally am “fine” re: the Kansas anti trans bills bc I still haven’t updated any of my legal documents so this bill doesn’t affect me in a material sense. Saying this to emphasize I personally do not need any help, distribute your resources to people who do

After two weeks of nonstop work, I have finally submitted my documentation to the state re: the bullshit false claims my old job made against me to deny me unemployment 36,483 words, 157 pages, and that’s not including primary evidence or the documentation I submitted during adjudication

Buying shoes (especially dress shoes) from the kids’ section is a game changer. A USA kids’ size 7 shoe is the equivalent of a USA women’s size 9 shoe and so on. Most kids shoes look more or less identical to adult versions of similar shoes AND are often cheaper
