The meeting was a disaster for everyone except two people. Trump got his photo op and his ego boost. Putin got his photo op, whitewashing of war crimes and no sanctions. No one in Ukraine, Europe or the United States benefited in any way.
Trump literally had uniformed active duty soldiers on their hands and knees rolling out the red carpet for a genocidal dictator who has killed millions of people around the world the last 26 years. America has fallen.
Masks? Why? Because they don’t want their mothers, family, friends, or community to know what creeps they really are.
So deeply embarrassing for the United States. Trump legitimized Putin and his illegal war on the world stage and got absolutely nothing in return. Not even a single step toward peace. Everyone involved in this charade should be ashamed.

Once upon a time, Woodward and Bernstein/Watergate made a young girl want to study journalism in graduate school and pursue it as a career. (I spent 6 years in radio news before pivoting full time to screenwriting.) I can't fathom that this is happening. That people are letting it happen.
