Every weekend in summer Vs. Every other weekend except Seafair from sorta May to kinda October and only on Sunday but sometimes also Saturday. I live blocks from LWB and in the old days I would often be surprised when it happened. Now, clear, easy to plan for, fun, easy to explain.

It's fair to say that the reason Bicycle Weekends on LWB (3 more weekends remaining) were far more successful this year than last year because I can easily describe how many more weekends there are without complexity.

New data analysis “has provided fresh evidence that cycling is the fastest inner city rush hour transport, with new findings from London showing that 2 wheels beats the tube & cars for most trips…the bike beat 92% of matched trips aligned to TfL services, as well as 75% of rush hour driving trips.”

“Just pretend the climate from south of you magically becomes your climate” is an epically stupid bit of cope. Britain will not get Mediterranean weather. It will get suffering and fire and death and ruin. OR we can ignore these moral cowards and DO SOMETHING to fix and reverse climate change.

Britain can’t stop climate change. Scrap net zero and embrace Mediterranean life

We’ve lost the war against global warming so let’s learn to handle hotter weather

This is an appreciation post for those of you who don't bike/walk yourselves but support safety improvements for other reasons - solidarity, community mindedness, or you just don't want to hit someone with your car. I see you!

Republicans are socialist for protecting and privileging money and libertarian for working people. Capital gets protections and assistance. Labor is on its own.

I spent summer days blazing around my neighborhood on a bike w/ a group of friends. This lasted for 2 amazing years. We moved to a new neighborhood that was only a bit more car centric and car-accessible and that ended. Still saw neighbors, just mostly inside, not roving around the neighborhood.

The fact that in America our kids must be professionally programmed each summer day instead of waking up and roving about with their pals is a tragic result of building the entire nation around cars. Cars have stolen American childhood. Wake up.
