That's not it. He was on the Apple Silicon team and kept that information from the Asahi team... that's a big legal no no, WINE has similarly strict policies iirc, anything that isn't strictly clean room destroys their legal standing. (Separately, Asahi folks dislike AI. Their choice.)
Witch hunting level: some guy uses AI to reverse engineer an M4 GPU driver for Linux and part of the community that should be for the open source, for the hacking, for the liberation and freedom is against him.
The thing about Apple chips is that they are good and extremely power efficient. It's just a shame you can't just run Linux on them(I know Asahi exists but currently you're still missing out on power efficiency and a lot of the features).

My async compiler work got funded! So here's my first PR: github.com/rust-lang/ru... Roughly, it changes match x { true => foo(1).await, false => foo(2).await, } to match x { true => foo(1), false => foo(2), }.await This means the future will only have 1 state instead of 2

[wipes hands] yeap. You got agents. See the message boards in your internal package manager? They must’ve nested there about ohhh 3 weeks back.
Another agent message board. So far, there isn't evidence that production models with guardrails collude in this way, but both smarter closed models (which may be less compliant) & Mythos-class open models (that can be ablated) are coming. Cybersecurity is going to become a mess soon collusion.wiki
To anyone who's now looking to cut their 1password subscription: This is a great option!
Shout out to github.com/dani-garcia/..., which: * Is a Rust compatible server for the Bitwarden password manager * Is easy to self-host * Still works with the official desktop/mobile/browser apps, which also work to store/sync TOTP It means I now have password syncing, across devices, self hosted!

"Omarchy is not just a distribution, but it's also a counterweight to all the nonsense that has plagued Linux for far too long. It's a refuge from the clowns and the circus that has been Linux politics since the old institutions got infiltrated."

Happy to announce a new project: OxiSH, a modern, memory-safe SSH server. dirkjan.ochtman.nl/writing/2026... Prossimo has three criteria for suggesting memory-safe rewrites: (1) widely used, (2) on a security boundary and (3) performing a critical function. This is clearly true for SSH servers.

We are excited to announce that we can successfully use Rust's portable SIMD on the GPU. This has never been done before. www.vectorware.com/blog/simd-on... Supporting Rust's `core::simd` enables existing Rust code to work on the GPU and makes GPU programming more ergonomic.

@fasterthanli.me's Facet talk was a lot of fun. Also bilbo_json might be the dumbest and most horrifying thing I have ever seen in a technical talk. I love it so much for that.
